Recently stopped by to pick up a couple of ribeyes. They had beautiful marbling and were incredibly flavorful and for a great price. I am never buying steaks anywhere else!

I was beginning to think that knowledge about how to make a great Reuben was lost! When we planned a trip to my hometown, Pittsburgh, I was thinking that outside of NYC, I’m guessing The Burgh will have a good Reuben. I went on my trusty Trip Advisor app and found Smallman Street Deli. Yum! We were not disappointed. This is a lunch counter deli with some seating, no table service. REALLY worth it!

If you like your corned beef and pastrami near bone dry and essentially void of taste this will be OK. Unfortunately it's the only game in town for brisket-based Jewish-style deli meats. Matzo ball soup is adequate, and various salads and other items in the counter case look OK. Essentially, the ambiance is Blah and with very limited seating it's better used as a take-out joint.

I thought it was going to be Kosher but I don't believe it was. I came for the corned beef on rye and the Matzo Ball soup. Neither disappointed though the sandwich was just average, and the soup was actually pretty good, only scalding hot and served in a styrofoam bowl, which I needed to blow on for 15 minutes until it was edible and I almost needed an oxygen recharge. It's a small place but they have free ample parking. At the lunch rush time, grab a table when you can. You order and pay at the counter, then pick it up when ready. If you're looking for a New York-style kosher delicatessen with items like stuffed derma, kasha varnishkas and brisket...fagettaboutit. They do have many other menu items which the crowds seem to enjoy

I can't wait to order from them again! We purchased two 10oz NY strip steaks, and there was a great sale. I love that you can order in advance online, and select a pick up time. The owners are super friendly, and even offered to deliver the food, since they were going to be in the area. This is a great butcher!

Great sandwiches but owner who got close to me as I was checking out and breathed all over me will not wear a mask. The person preparing my food had his mask on his chin, fully breathing on my food. Never ever again. We are in a global pandemic. It is not a big expectation for the owner to have the respect to wear a mask and ensure his employees do as well. Shows how little he values his customers. Disgusting.
