We really enjoyed this spot! Went for an early dinner before a game. Our server was attentive and friendly. The portions are large; we could have easily shared our Caesar salad and entrees. The menu selections are classic Italian but well executed. Highly recommend.

I find Valliozzi's to be the best Italian restaurant in the Pittsburgh area. Very Nice for sure.

Got seated right away. Enjoyed a great review of the menu with the waitress. Had several delicious bar made drinks and cocktails. Had outstanding appetizers. And the meal was amazing. Will be back again. We had crab cakes, and the veal parmigiana!! Very good meal!!!

The Parma salad was iceberg lettuce with parm cheese. Nothing special and not that good - for $12. The server told us the anchovies on it were not white anchovies and they were. She also forgot to hold my dressing. The bread was a bit stale. The dinners were just ok - and just warm ( not hot). Very disappointed.

Have eaten here many times. Last night, restaurant was busier than usual. Pasta was just undercooked. This had never happened before but just looking at the pasta you could tell it wasn't cooked then you add in the “bonus “ gnocchi with the paparadelle and you know someone really was rushed. Will definitely eat there again but there should be some quality control no matter how busy a place might be

Met a client there for a discussion about work and found it a good place for a quality discussion. Not many people there so the music was louder than it needed to be.

The menu didn't have too many options for the picky eaters in my crew; however, I my meal was delicious. We went prior to an 8pm show at the Benedum and were there by 6:10 with reservations. It was about an hour later before our main meal got to the table and we ate in a rush. It is conveniently located to the venue, and the atmosphere is great, but I would recommend allowing more time than I did if you are going prior to a show.

Our food was delicious. Our server was very good. There were two groups of eight people who were very loud.

We went there on a quiet Thursday night. We were seated in the bar area and not in the main dining room. We figured it was not being used but found out later it was being used. Despite that our food was very delicately processed . We had the calamari which was prepared perfectly and accompanied by both a zesty tomato sauce and a lemon aoili sauce. Both good! And a huge serving. Enough for 3 or 4. My husband had rigatoni w mozzarella and cherry tomatoes and tomato ragu sauce —very filling! I had a scrumptious baked salmon w a Calabrian honey glaze and a delicious faro salad as a side. Server was very attentive.

The waiter was really nice. We got our food really quick. I had the risotto and chicken and it was really good for lunch. I'll definitely go back there

Had some friends in from out of town and we had a reservation for 6 at 5:00PM on a Saturday before an event. Restaurant was fairly empty at that time, but started to fill up as time passed. No appetizers were ordered, but they did bring bread and a whipped ricotta to the table. I didn't think it had much flavor and neither did anyone at our table. Most of our table did enjoy the entrees, although the seafood risotto that I had was a little thick. A risotto should be creamier and relax on the plate and this did not. The accompanying seafood in the dish was very good and properly prepared. The different flavors of cello were very good...and strong. Never knew there were so many options as I had only really seen lemoncello before, so nicely done. All in all a good experience as our server was great and the service was timely and friendly. Would recommend as a place for dinner before any event in the cultural district as it is within easy walking distance to both the Benedum and Heinz Hall.

Vallozzi's was always a downtown favorite, good food, expensive, but it's in the city so it's to be expected. We decided to give sitting in the bar a try vs. the dining room. First, the music selection was "head banging" awful and too loud! I thought it would have been jazz, nope! Since we were seeing a show afterward, we wanted something light with no leftovers, so we tried the parma salad (for each), meatballs and the Vallozzi pizza. OK, it's been over a year since we had a meal at Vallozzi, and definitely a change! We've always loved the parma salad, now served on a small plate vs the mid-sized bowl, the crispy prosciutto previously was small diced, now prosciutto specks! the former shaved parm is now sparingly grated (the menu still has listed as shaved, definitely not!) For $15 you get three golf ball sized meatballs and the pizza worst of all! The crust was tough and tasted sweet (yuk!) they must also be using this dough for desserts? I had a glass of wine, my husband had two beers. The server became disinterested in is since this is all we ordered! It will be a long time before we visit Vallozzi's again. So disappointed! Not many good restaurants left in downtown, so we'll stay in the Burbs!

Our first visit to Vallozzi's did not disappoint. Our waiter, Clayton, was very personable, attentive, and had great recommendations. Great selection of wines, delicious food, and we loved our window table overlooking the street activity. My husband said his Bolognaise was the best he's ever had and my salmon was unbeliebably good. Make sure you get the Artichoke appetizer. It was amazing. We'll be back!

We came in about 30 minutes before close and we had the one of best dining experiences. They only mentioned one time for us to get our desert order in before the kitchen closed. Other than that it was business as usual, the pasta was fresh and the sauces were vibrant and the portions were huge.
