I was walking around while my girlfriend was getting her nails done and decided to stop here for a drink. I had no idea what kind of bar it was but it seemed like a cool spot to watch some baseball.

Bartender was nice at first but after I asked for a drink they couldn't make, the mood changed and I'm not exactly sure why. I worked as a server/bartender for many years so I'm always make sure I treat all service workers with an abundance of kindness and patience. So, I know I wasn't being rude. I was perfectly fine with getting a beer instead.

I tried making conversation but I was met with a brick wall. Others were making conversation just fine, so I know it was mainly a thing with me.

I had some apps but they seemed like they were brought in by either Sysco or US Foods, so nothing special.

Asked for the check and after I paid I made sure to say thanks and to have a good rest of the day, but was once again met with no response. Every other person that was paid their tabs was met with a smile and a friendly exchange.

This seems like an alright spot, but my experience left me feeling upset. Not mad, but I was just looking for a nice spot to chill and didn't mean to make anyone upset just by asking for a drink.

This one hurts to write. William Penn was once my favorite bar. Since moving to the new location a few years ago, I've had nothing but negative experiences.

Just now, I asked if I could order food and was just told no. I'm not intoxicated, I wasn't rude. They just cannot handle their front of house with their existing kitchen.

Don't waste your time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A spiritual experience disguised as a bar
William Penn Tavern isn’t just a bar. It’s a lifestyle choice. I walked in for one beer and walked out spiritually reborn, smelling like buffalo sauce and regret. The second I sat down, I could feel my arteries whisper “don’t do it” while my soul screamed “extra ranch.”
The wings here are so good I briefly considered proposing to them. The “Kitchen Sink” sauce changed me as a person. I blacked out somewhere between “medium heat” and “I can see colors now.” I swear I saw George Washington in the steam rising from my plate, and he told me to order another round.
The crowd was a mix of college students, sports fans, and one man who might have legally been a couch. Everyone was screaming at TVs like their mortgage depended on it. The bartender had the confidence of a man who could solve all of life’s problems with a Jägerbomb, and honestly, he might be right.
At one point I lost track of time. Was I there for two hours or two days? I can’t say. But I do know that when I left, I had a new tattoo, a new best friend named Carl, and a firm belief that this bar could solve world peace if given enough Coors Light.
If you come to William Penn Tavern expecting a quiet evening, you’ve made a terrible mistake. But if you come seeking chaos, wings, and the kind of happiness that only deep-fried poultry can bring, welcome home.

Bouncer kicked us out not sure why. (no explanation- I happened to be with my black friend?) Avid drinkers, and the bartender/buss boy ripped a bottle out of my hand. Not a great experience start to finish. Maybe go if you just need a quick shot between strip and Lawrenceville on a journey.

Boneless wings were not good nor were the cocktails. Best thing about the place is the number of TVs to watch the games.

I mean it when I say this is probably the single best Philly cheesesteak in Pittsburgh(as a South Jersey native I might be biased to its name on the menu). Love that it comes with relish on the side, too

Stopped in for lunch, got a drink and a menu and never saw the server again for 45 minutes. First and last time in this dump.

Such a fun place for sporting events or just a night out. Garage door is awesome in the summer and I love the staff. Great specials and food. Their kitchen sink sauce is 10/10!!

Great place. Special thanks to the bartender (sorry didn't catch your name) who helped me sort out my food pick up issue. Cheers!
