My family and I had an amazing time in Kalahari but enjoying delicious breakfast buffet at a reasonable price topped with great service from excellent workers like Mrs Mary Ann, Nancy, Alex. The man making the omelet was warm, kind and makes the best omelet. Can’t wait to visit again.
RIP OFF!! Must READ!
So far the servers, waiters, host were decent.
The only complaint I have is that the price they have online vs. what they have at the actual restaurant was big price difference which not many know about. If you pay close attention and already have been there then you’d probably get it. Otherwise, just booking online would be a lot more expensive.
Or perhaps you can ask via phone if they have the option.
Here’s the break down:
Online booking only option they have
1 Adult: $25 (and change) not $26 as stated right outside the restaurant
1 Kid: $15.99
On the actual restaurant they have 3 option’s for kids which as you see on the photo attached:
Teenager (Ages 10 - 12): $18.99
Kids (Ages 4 - 11) $9.99
Kids (Ages 3 below) Free
Like what?! We have ages of 4, 6, 9 years old kids and charged 15.99 plus tax per kid. What a rip off!!!
Food and food selection was great tho!
They have some basic vegetables options thankfully.
Great burgers! The best waitress EVER! She got our orders right and she was very fast and very very nice! Thank you Da
Ann Marie was a great server for our family. The food was tasty and the Starbucks coffee hit the spot.

Really a 11 year old child counts as an adult ??? That’s ridiculous!!! Overpriced buffet! Plus gratuity was $20 for a party of 4 ! Prices are ridiculous!
Not open as states 10/18/24
The buffet was closed for renovations, and we had to go to the b. Lux restaurant. They were understaffed, and it took quite a while to get our food, but Annmarie our server was wonderful and a total pro in an impossible situation. We’re waiters so we knew what she was going through! But, once the food came, it was delicious. well, worth the weight and at a great price as well
Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options.

Boyfriend and I were staying at Kalahari for the convention amd didn't want to leave the hotel so we figured we could get some great food as we highly enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Hyatt Regency in O'hare when we went for Anime Central and boy were we WRONG.
The only good thing was the eggs which were runny. The oatmeal was watery, options were very limited in what you could get no hash browns only tater tots. The bacon was extremely greasy and limp also did NOT taste good at all, the French toast sticks were cold and still partly frozen. The pancakes were rock hard, there was just simply nothing appealing for the price and the best part is we both got food poisoning practically immediately after eating. We had to run to the bathroom then go to Walmart for stomach medication. I would rather go out to eat at McDonald's than eat at the great Karoo ever again

This is probably one of the best buffets I have ever been to! The server was very nice, and the food was amazing. But there's a usually a big line just at about 9 A.M, so I recommend going as early as possible unless you want to wait a long time.

Horrendously overpriced junk food that was most definitely bought as repeatedly frozen instant food packets for no more than one cent a piece. The greasy cold bacon was accompanied by the most bland and tasteless pancakes imaginable as well as horribly scorched coffee that was reheated in a microwave multiple times in a row and oatmeal that looked like it was eaten and spit out for a month straight by some inmates and branded as a secret recipe because even they couldn’t handle the taste. The deserts were contending with the pancakes for the blandest food of the decade and were either really dry or wet while looking a lot like those cheap mini deserts that are sold covered in plastic that you can find in low quality hotels. There was some pizza that looked alright but why would someone eat pizza for breakfast. The only good food i could find were some hash-browns but they weren’t in one piece, instead they were all jumbled up which i found strange. The other drink i tried was orange juice which was also rather displeasing, i want to add that there was an omelet station that was really cool but the portions were tiny, they didn’t use any spices and the ingredients you could add looked and tasted as if they marinated in their own juices for at least 2 weeks. The servers were all right.
Conclusion: It isn’t worth 26$ a person.
