Hands down, the BEST fried chicken in berks county. The chicken is always fresh, crispy and seasoned to perfection. I don't even fry chicken anymore because nothing comes close to this chicken. Whenever I host a party, you can best believe that I order my chicken from Beckett's.
I had a craving for good chicken wings and was reading the reviews on Becketts and decided to give them a try! I was not disappointed! The wings were crispy but moist in the middle making them just right for great eating! They were cooked all the way through to the bone but not too dry to chew! I had Mac and cheese as one of my sides along with greens and cornbread, extra delicious! The greens were cooked with smoked turkey not pork, a plus for me as I don’t eat pork! All in all I must say that I enjoyed this meal immensely! I have enough chicken wings for another 2 meals! The ONLY thing that would have made it even better would have been PEACH COBBLER!

I’ve tried to call multiple times. I never get an answer and when I do they are out of something on the menu…. We call at-least three times and then give up. We’ve tried to order three times already. What a shame…

Hands down the BEST fried chicken wings in the City of Reading, Pa & has been for more than 30 years. I wasn’t born in this City, but I’ve been eating these wings for more than 30 years strong. Many years ago, he used to have more tasty items for sale, but over the years has reduced it to what customers really want/need which is Soul Food. Headlined by the best fried chicken wings the City of Reading has to offer. Before I begin I must tell you that I am only here to review their wings & fries, delivery through DoorDash has only been available for a a month or so. Prior to this, it’s ALWAYS been pickup. The fries are the basic straight cut fry. They weren’t over or under cooked and matched up well with the wings. The added roll is a black thing. I am black so please don’t think that was a foul statement. Most of us, myself included will not eat fried chicken without bread. It doesn’t matter if 10 pounds of fries were included in the platter. There must be ? As you can see, each piece of chicken was coated and cooked properly. There was no darker or lighter pieces. Every piece of skin on every piece of chicken was the same color. This tells me that no matter how busy they get the food quality is consistent. Please note that this place gets real busy so sometimes DoorDash isn’t available. You may have to call and place your order then pick it up. These wings were served hot which is always a plus when being delivered. Seasoned to perfection with crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. Once you take a bite, you won’t stop eating until all of your wings are gone. Don’t even think about sharing them with a fellow newcomer. Pay the money and get everyone their own platter. Another plus was that I didn’t notice any hairs on my chicken. Now I’m not saying that your piece won’t have any, but mines didn’t. If you happen to stop by, tell them Big Dave sent ya. My family and I are from Utah and we was in Reading visiting my son in college. We randomly chose this place off Google and I'm glad we went here. The guys were very friendly and the food oh my goodness was amazing. The only thing was the pork chops were a little dry but everything else was amazing. We got the fried chicken, chicken wings, fried pork chops, Mac n cheese, greens and fries. No complaints from us other than the pork chops little mishap but would definitely eat here again. Keep up the great cooking gentleman

Ate here for my first meal in Reading while at IXarts, the food is fantastic. I got a chicken leg and thigh, sweet potatoes and collard greens. I don't even like collard greens but I ordered them because I knew they'd be good and I was right, they were the best I'd ever had. The food takes a little while to come out but it's worth it. If you have a spare 30 minutes go and have some lunch and chat with the owner, he's a nice guy.
Parking: You'll be fine as long as you can parallel park.
Kid-friendliness: Seemed kid friendly to me, everyone I met there was very friendly. I don't remember any high chairs but your kids will eat that chicken right up.
Wheelchair accessibility: No ramp to enter the building and street parking might make it even harder for folks in wheelchairs. You'd probably have to get their attention and place your order outside.
