My only regret is that I cannot give it more stars!!!! Excellent food. You can tell the food is cooked with love and they take pride in their business. Excellent value as well - extremely generous portions. Even the way our takeout was packaged was extremely neat and well organized. Lots of extra sauces and utensils/napkins. Highly recommended!!! Remember to tip well!!!

We were at the train museum today and found this gem in scranton, this place was amazing. The guacamole and spice salasa was the bomb. Next time we are going to travel through Scranton, this is a must stop place for us.

I was delighted to discover a spot where I could satisfy my craving for authentic Mexican cuisine. The tacos were absolutely superb! The staff was incredibly friendly, and as an added bonus, they offer fresh tortillas to take home by the pound. I'll definitely be returning whenever I find myself in Scranton again.

We got lingua soft tacos, lingua burritos, and fresh tortilla chips with fresh guac. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it all. I think the guac was made to order. The fresh made tortillas were great. The beef tongue was tender and delicious and plentiful. Certainly the most authentic Mexican food I've ever had. We ordered deliver from a food delivery app and the restaurant packed the order up very well including all the condiments. Don't miss out on this fantastic place.
Love this place, recently went for birra tacos and they were so good. Since I haven’t had them before the server gave us a quick how to lesson. All the food was excellent, fast service, friendly and the place was super clean. Also had maybe the best tiramisu cake I’ve ever had for dessert. 5 stars across the

I'm from Southern Arizona where tamales were a staple growing up. I've lived in Scranton for almost 9 years and have never found a place with authentic tamales until El Buen Amigo. I used Doordash and unfortunately they were not on the menu so I called and they were so kind to let me pay for them and added them to my order. The food is absolutely authentic and amazing, and the staff is absolutely amazing for accommodating this. Thank you. Definitely recommend.

The good friendI took my wife to a doctor's appointment in Scranton and after a 4 hour infusion. We were hungry. We chose Mexican food and found "El Buen Amigo" Restaurant only 11 minutes from us. They had good reviews, so we decided to go give them a try.When we entered the place, a nice gentleman (Tony) greeted us and sat us down. The place looked nice and clean. There was another couple that was also in the dining room.Tony introduced himself, handed us the menus, and asked if we wanted to order some drinks before our main order.We ordered a Horchata for my wife, and I ordered some water with lemon.Horchata drink was very good. This is one of the drinks that my wife likes. And she said it was very good.He brought us some chips, salsa and guacamole. We could tell the chips were fresh. The guacamole was delicious, and salsa was very good.My wife ordered the Chilaquiles, and I ordered the Carne Asada.My wife said her Chilaquiles were delicious and not too spicy. She used to help a friend in a Mexican kitchen.
