Food is so good and so cheap. Me and my friends love this place so much, the people who work there always have a good attitude. When i tell you that i paid 9 dollars and had foor for 3 days i'm not kidding. This is such a good little hole in the wall college chinese food place.

Oh, to be a student again, eating wonderful food in not-so-fancy places and loving it.

Downstairs, off the busy street with its student magnets, Big Bowl is a treasure. Simple menu on the wall, order at the counter, pay and wait for it. Not too expensive. Tasty, uncomplicated food prepared with a minimum of pretense and a healthy dose of humility. Serve your own condiments, bus your own table. Leave satisfied!

A must-try place, worth going out of your way.

2024 Update:
It's the same place, the same food, the same staff. We had a noodle soup (excellent, among the best we've every had), a crispy chicken side dish (even better when drizzled liberally with black vinegar), and pan-fried pho noodles with chicken (tasty).

Still worth traveling a long way to enjoy!

They offer one of the best deals for Chinese food in this town. The flavors were excellent, the portion size was large, and the price was great. They also offer plenty of vegetarian options.

Clean, affordable, generous portions, first-class taste, highly recommended. It's a great place to go for Chinese fast food.

They got my order wrong :(. Not that big of a deal though since whay I got was still pretty good. Pretty decent, authentic Chinese restaurant with sizeable portions.

Parking: You're gonna have to settle for some paid street parking. Right next to Penn state tho so what do you expect.

Well, this is like one of those bad Chinese restaurants in China that stay open till late... which to me is like home and nostalgic! If nothing, the sesame balls are excellent, and hot and the bubble tea is also good. Everything else is like home... not too good but heart warmingly good. Portions are big, prices are good, even for the desserts.

Vegetarian options: May be seasoned with non-vegetarian sauces so ask.

Wheelchair accessibility: Many steps to the basement.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in State College. Takeout portions are inconsistent with the size compared dine-in (in my opinion) but their food is incredible and very college-budget friendly. Love this place.

Large portions and so many dishes to choose from! Self-serve counter and clean up, very reasonably priced. It was all very good. Lots of seating, lunch rush makes it a noisy place. It's downstairs from street level.
There was four of us, so we ordered 3 entrees, 2 appetizers, 1 side of rice = $12-15/person.

Love this place. Great quality and price.
