Hoss's Steak & Sea House

Stopped in for lunch and had the salad bar. Good selection and the items were fresh.

Was there for a working group luncheon. We had a room in the back for 20 people. Our server was excellent, the sliced steak sandwich was exceptionally tender and tasted great, and had a great ambiance. Will visit again the next time I find myself in the State College area.

It’s rare to find good service in State College but Josh was a great server. He checked up on us and gave us refills — our glasses never went empty. He was very kind, even with having to deal with a group of 6 younger students who were very rude and obnoxious. I applaud him. It was extremely busy and he still was able to be attentive to us.

The food was good, but the hospitality was excellent. We were a very large group (around 30 people) looking for a place last minute, and Hoss's was extremely accomodating. Our waitresses, Raisa and Jenna, were super attentive and managed to get everyone's drinks and food orders out in a very organized and timely manner, while also consistently checking on us for refills. They even let us do individual checks, which made everything a lot easier! We're really grateful to them for a great experience.

Everything was perfect. Until 3 of our 6 person parry got extreme food poisoning. One ended up in the hospital. We love Hoss's and while that won't stop is from going again. Figured someone needed to know.

Family friendly, chicken corn soup is literally corn with a fleck of chicken. Salad bar is always amazing. Server was fantastic. Totally recommend 👌

I have never left a restaurant without tipping until I ate here. Our waitress (don’t know her name because she never introduced herself) was disappointing. She didn’t offer refills, didn’t check to see how we were doing, and when it was time for the check, she just dropped it on the table without saying anything. The food wasn’t great. Will not be going back here.

Best fish dinner I've had anywhere. Hoss's is a family favorite. Salad bar includes desert.
