I hate to give a bad review but believe me the food I ate at the buffet on 9/7/2024 was so so horrible that I couldn't fathom how can somebody mess up so badly.. Most likely the Chef had no clue what Indian food is and how it is cooked. It could be one time screwup but believe me, it was nothing like Indian food. Items I tried were:
1. Dal Makhani rating 3 out of 10
2. Paneer 2 out of 10
3. Saag Alloo 4 out of 10
4. Chhole 1 out of 10
5. Naan 3 out of 10 (Likely frozen Naans were used)
6. Veg Manchurian 5 out of 10
Two weeks ago I tried Shahi Paneer as A La Carte and it was good. That was the reason I went there again...
I hope the owner reads this and takes corrective action.

If you're looking for the best Asian cuisine in State College, India Pavilion is a standout choice. The servers are incredibly welcoming, and the food is exceptionally authentic, reminiscent of traditional Indian flavors. After trying various other restaurants, I found that none compared to the genuine taste offered here. India Pavilion, a family-run business, provides a warm, homely atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. I would rate it highly for both its exceptional service and delightful company.

Good friendly staff and good ambiance… Buffet had decent options if not great… Food was fresh and warm but the only thing missing was taste , dint like the taste of dishes felt too bland…Not impressed with taste, I had better buffets in Pittsburgh, Tried both Indian restaurants in State College, they are not up to mark..

The veggie samosa was great, and I appreciated them having clearly marked vegan (and vegetarian, dairy, and gluten free) options on a special menu. Since I couldn't eat bhatura, the waitress kindly suggested puri instead to go with the chole, and it was just as good as what I'd wanted to order. I also loved the waitress's attitude. She was forward and opinionated and helpful, very refreshing!

Very nice Indian restaurant in downtown State College. Very nice lunch buffet. Geared towards the general public and not as spicy. Staff was friendly.

My husband and I love good food, but Indian cuisine is not one that we are experienced in. Decided the lunch buffet was perfect not only for the cost, but the wide array of curry options to try. We absolutely loved them all. They had a mild to medium spiciness (enough to warm you up but not make you cry or sweat), the flavors were bold and well put together. I had a number of questions that were happily answered by staff. All in all, great experience and will definitely return again.
If you ask, they will give you a separate menu with their dishes and checks for gluten, vegetarian, vegan, nut free, and more. Some of the dishes are not as fast if you order vegan as they make them fresh. Their vegan vindaloo is awesome and spicier than the meat version. During lunch buffet you can still order from the menu. My kids love the buffet while we parents use the menu for vegan choices. The selection is quite good.
Excellent Candle Light Dinner!!

I love a good Indian Buffet, and this one was no exception! While it's not huge, it had tye staples chicken tikla masala, saag paneer, lentils, chicken vindaloo plus 3 or 4 additional. The Naan was continuously delivered to the table hot from the oven and was delicious! And at $12.95 a person, it was priced perfectly! We'll definitely be back!!

We just hosted our daughter's wedding in central Pennsylvania. Her new husband is from India. Because we know that we were going to have numerous guests from India, we wanted to offer an Indian buffet for dinner. The India Pavillion did a fantastic job, even bringing in the equipment to make fresh naan and other specialty dishes on site. All of our guests loved it!
