We had a I wonderful date night at The Koop yesterday night. The vibe was comfortable and fun. You get to snag a menu and grab a seat for dine in. Which is nice since we could take our time making a decision on what we wanted to try first. The staff was helpful and friendly. He made great recommendations to us. While waiting for our food we enjoyed the cute, hilarious and rowdy doodles on the wall. Fun to spot funny signatures and add ourselves to the collection <3
Everything we got was our favorite! Since we are in from out of town, we ordered for leftovers :D We had a potato, chz and spicy mayo k-dog (obviously my husband's favorite, just look at his face haha). A Ramen, hot dog, spicy mayo kdog. Bulgogi (add egg) with pickled radish, kimichi and green radish. Chicken with side of sweet spicy sauce & soy garlic sauce.
It was all amazing. Yes, they charge for extra sides of sauce, radish. It is worth it, it takes time, effort, love and you can taste it. I wouldn't expect that for free (in response to a unfair one star review-in my opinion- I read before going) It is SO worth it <3
Music was great and the tv was playing kpop music videos, which are super fun to enjoy. The drawing on the walls were super entertaining too haha
I highly recommend trying them out. It was excellent!
Parking: We parked at McCailster Garage. Forgotten place to park that usually has spots even on weekends :D

Food was ok. Not sure if this is actually Korean or not. What Korean fried chicken place charges for radish? Usually it comes with, we were told, and they forgot it. The food was soggy bc they don’t vent the food container. Nobody wants to eat soggy chicken and fries.
Also how is it the chicken has no sauce on it when you ask for sauce? It’s literally barely drizzled on. This place is a disgrace to Korean fried chicken. Save ur money!!! Please make your chefs travel 3 and a half hours to the DMV, and see how it should be actually made.

expensive!
bulgogi tastes good but too little meat.
fried chicken is bland without sauce, which costs extra.
not worth the money imo.
EDIT: when i mean bland i mean it tasted like they didn't add any salt whatsoever. just chicken and batter, no salt, so of course it tastes bland. even if you want to make money by selling sauce packets, the least you can do is add salt to the chicken so it doesn't taste like tap water.

Sweet little family shop. Tried the Korean corndogs; they are very good, but I would recommend splitting as they are a lot.

Pretty good meal. I enjoyed the place and atmosphere. I loved the bulgogi and the kimchi stew was nice too. The boneless chicken was a bit too oily to my taste though. But lovely experience overall.

Fantastic Korean food. Really great fried chicken and japchae. The chicken was very crispy. The seafood pancake was full of seafood. The Yukgaejang was really delicious. Not that spicy but very flavorful. Really friendly service. Their pickled vegetable (chayote) was unique and really good. Would highly recommend.

We went in on a quiet Wednesday at opening. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. We don't get downtown too often so this made the experience so much better.

I came here a few days ago with my husband, and we’ve been here several times before. I love the food here—it's always delicious and fresh, and the staff is super friendly. Even though I think the prices are a bit high, the quality makes it worth it. Haha. This is the best Korean restaurant in State College, in my opinion. All the dishes taste authentic, just like the food I had when I traveled to Seoul last year.

Mrs. Lee is the best and so nice! My friend and I came here all the time throughout our time in college before we graduated, and we brought all of our visitors here as well. This is by far the best korean food in state college! We love the fried chicken. Service is always great, food is great quality, and Mrs. Lee sometimes throws in some freebie sides for us which is so nice of her. We stopped in today for the last time before moving out, and ordered the bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, kimbap, and dumplings, and like always we were so satisfied with our meals and service. The friend that visited today is considering grad school here because her meal was so good LOL. We will miss this place so much and plan to come back every time we visit!
