As J.DeFranco and Daughters Catering had posted pictures of their Pizza Cigalo bread I was intrigued. We settled on a Chicken Parm on semolina for her, sans sauce as she’s taking a break from tomato. I went with their President’s Week special; The Taft, also on semolina, as I had never heard of a sandwich like it before and I often need a catalyst to move me out of my ordering habit of, mostly, known favorites. I also asked for pesto on the side as I had never tried theirs and I thought it would make a good option for The Reverend’s chicken and/or the Pizza Cigola bread. The bread tasted straight outta da Bronx That pesto was so fresh and far and away the best I ever tasted. I am so grateful I overruled my feelings re: Taft/Hartley. The apples and dijon took it to another level!“
