“Just moved into the area and Mari’s is going to be the place to go for me. I love trying different beers more than getting a lot of one particular beer. Mari’sis the only beer store I’ve seen where virtually everything can be found in a single. Most places take the more expensive craft beers and keep them in 4/6 packs but at Mari’s you can either get that or buy a single can or bottle. It’s genius really. I’m way more likely to buy many singles than spend $20 on a craft four pack I may not like and the selection is pretty great as well. Awesome store.“

“It is a throw back bar.Ok..Ok..It a dive.! but a great dive bar! Walking in takes you back in time. I don't think there is a more laid back bar than Huie's in Berks County. Want to smoke a cigarette? You can. They don't chase you outside to smoke. It is the most non pretentious bar I have every been to. Beer prices are great. Scott, the bartender, is such a nice guy. Pretty damm smart too. Don't challenge him in Jeopardy unless you want to get your butt handed to you. This bar may not be for everyone and that's a good thing but it's good enough for me and all the other nice people who go there!! 1/2/24.. The greatest dive bar in Berks County. There are a lot of regulars and a lot if banter. If you are thin skinned or easily offended, this is not the place for you. If you come in feeling entitled or special, or demanding or complaining you won't feel that way when you walk out. Yeah, it a little clicky but it's like family when you are part of the click.“

And you can do your laundry next door! With a personable, caring owner who is there day in and day out? This is the epitome of a neighborhood bar. The jukebox is great as well! Don't let the appearance fool you, this is one of the greatest spots you will find in the Reading area.“

“Absolutely fantastic experience at Ganly's Irish Pub and Restaurant! The service was top-notch — the wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The night manager was also very welcoming and personable.

We both enjoyed our meals greatly — I had the Maryland mac and cheese and my wife got the beef stroganoff. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, super rich, flavorful, and served with huge portions. The quality and taste totally justified the slightly higher prices, especially since we ended up taking leftovers home and enjoyed them for two more meals.

They know how to pour, what to pour, and who to pour it for. I never name names, but in this case, I will set a new precedent. Kudos to Kyle, Paige, Bailey, and Ryan. Each of whom, it would seem, come from different worlds and life experiences. All of whom are going places, be it in academic education, hospitality, entrepreneurship, or perhaps being the best at building a conventional life with style, love of life, family, and humanity in the aggregate. Dare I say it, the last of a dying breed.I've met some of the most fun and prolific characters at 24 who've made me feel at home in Pennsylvania, although I am from afar, i.e. Philly . The kind of folks who go out of their way to say hello as they make their way to the bar.Sometimes, after work, feeling a bit peckish, I will peruse the menu and discover some great interpretations of salads (Caesar) and snacks (Truffle fries) that hit the spot and keep me busy enjoying one of my favorite past times: eating. And from what I've seen at various and sundry tables at various times through the course of any given evening, this kitchen delivers hearty inspired entrees sure to give you reason to give positive word of mouth with regard to culinary talent. The Cubano sandwich is very under flavored and the meat on it is so under seasoned that it tastes like boiled, wet meat. Very flavorless. Very disappointed. But the menu looks good, otherwise.

The fires are great. The cocktails are good. The tequila selection is phenomenal. The service and hospitality are great. Worth a revisit.“

“So, given the availability of this place versus where people live, where the big cities are and what bands come through here, I'm not too critical about most things. After all, a local show with a AAA+ band you normally can't see is a big deal for someone who hasn't seen said band before or in a long time, especially when you can't make it to see XYZ band in a major city on a Wednesday night.

That being said, this is the third time I've been here and living at a halfway point between Reading and Baltimore, I have to compare because I pay money for gas to go either way and tickets to get inside any one place.

Someone or someones here needs to really, really needs to work on the audio system. All three shows, the latest being Tallah last night on 9/19, have had serious mic issues during sets where one or two people doing vocals just could not be heard at all during their sets. Also, main vocalist audio would seem to get quiet and then loud. A lot of guitar sounds just wouldn't be audible. I know that given the size of the place, one can only do so much and there's only so much room for audio equipment, but a lot of sounds are also kinda mashed together at times.

Nothing is outright *bad*, but things need work. I'm not a high-maintenance guy. I'm actually a pretty cheap and realistic date. I won't lie, though. Food and non-alcoholic drink seemed to be a dollar more than it was worth. Again, realistic. Seems to be one of few venues in the greater area, so I understand a premium will be paid and I'm okay with that.

Will I come again? If/when the stars align and the right band comes through, sure. The worst part about being an adult and working nights is adulting and having to prioritize things so I can see that AAA+ band on a Friday or Saturday instead of using vacation time in the middle of the week.“
