“Just moved into the area and Mari’s is going to be the place to go for me. I love trying different beers more than getting a lot of one particular beer. Mari’sis the only beer store I’ve seen where virtually everything can be found in a single. Most places take the more expensive craft beers and keep them in 4/6 packs but at Mari’s you can either get that or buy a single can or bottle. It’s genius really. I’m way more likely to buy many singles than spend $20 on a craft four pack I may not like and the selection is pretty great as well. Awesome store.“

“The pictures looked good and the reviews of the Pike even better and after our visit we are looking forward to a return trip the next time we are in town. It seems like a desolate area now with the historic 9th street outlet center leveled and we new the Pike Cafe was there, but didn't know what to expect. The Pike Cafe if a true diamond in the rough, with an attractive oval bar as you enter and a very pleasing dining area decorated very nicely. The have a huge menu as well as daily specials, of which we both had. The chicken sandwich was a 6z breast with bacon, a very thin ham slice fried and pulled pork along with a Dijon aioli. This combination works perfectly and I will be trying this when I get home. My wife got the same, but without the roll and it came with a small salad. They run $2 pints and $3 22z drafts all day every day. Our waitress, Amy was excellent and every one in the restaurant we encountered was very friendly. They have a parking lot right next to the restaurant with some of it covered and I can't believe that after 40 years of coming to the Reading area, we finally discovered it. Great atmosphere and we liked the crowd that ranged from people in their 20's to their 70's.“

After reading on here about recent service experiences, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm happy to report that the problematic bartender is no longer here and everyone I encountered was nice, chatty, and helpful. “We were in town for a concert at Santander, and we went to the Pike Cafe for dinner first. Plenty of parking, easy to find in downtown Reading. It has a sports bar vibe, lots of tvs everywhere. The atmosphere was casual and family friendly. The food was good. Get the skillet brownie sundae to top off your dinner so yummy!!! Service was top notch. Really friendly. Looked like a fun place to hang out, but we didn't have time.“
