“From the moment you step in until you leave you are valued. Frank met us when we arrived insured our meals were up to his and his wife's standards. I have eaten meals at some of the finest dining restaurants around the country. What makes this different? One it is caring from service to ownership. Second, they are culinary chef's and its shows in the taste as well the presentation. I ate vegetables that I usually leave on the side, because it was hard to leave food on the plate. We usually have leftovers, but honestly the portions we appropriate for the price. This is not kid's place. This is a great place for adults to enjoy a meal that is the Best in Berks County and probably beyond. I have been to 48 states, and we usually go where the recommendations are. If you live anywhere near this place and you want a meal that you won't regret, please pick up the phone and call. You will never be disappointed. The best duck I have ever had. “Food is amazing. I seriously could eat there everyday! One of my favorites is the Cheese Tortellini in Alfredo Sauce with chicken. The Alfredo Sauce is fresh made and the best I have ever had. Staff is always super nice and attentive even when they are busy which is always.“

“We cannot speak highly enough about Stokesay, their entire team, and, most importantly, Hannah Kufro, our Wedding Coordinator that we worked with! My wife and I signed our venue contract one-year to the date ahead of our big day, with a different coordinator, one who ultimately ended up transitioning to a different organization just a week before our tasting was scheduled. For a couple planning a wedding, especially so close to their big day, this would normally have been an incredibly stressful change to hear about, however, we were expeditiously contacted by Hannah and met her days later at our tasting – immediately after meeting her we knew we were in great hands, and we both agree that our initial impression was spot on. Hannah’s attention to detail, flexibility, and knowledge have continued to impress ourselves, our parents, and our guests who experienced a phenomenal wedding just this past weekend. She not only hit the ground running with our event, but confirmed several details and was able to work with us to ensure our wedding day was as perfect as possible. “We stopped in for brunch and had such a great experience! Our server, Callie, was absolutely wonderful—super friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal even better. My boyfriend ordered the State Hill Loaded Bloody Mary and boy was it loaded… totally worth it! I went with the BOGO mimosa deal, and for the price, you seriously cannot beat it. For food, we highly recommend the Shrimp Eggs Benedict and the Wagyu Meatloaf Bowl. Both were delicious and so satisfying. Overall, great drinks, great food, and great service. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Outstanding food and service. Everything is the same as before which is a good thing. Food and drinks are top shelf quality. Staff are friendly and well staffed especially at the bar. A nice classy environment to clear your mind unlike most taverns. Expect high end dining because this is the spot for it.“

“Great service, food was fresh and so good. Truc was as our server and she was so kind and provided us with the best service! Me and my man got 3 appetizers and shared an entree and spent about $60. We ordered the chicken dumplings (they were okay), we ordered the calamari (amazing MUST get), we also orde d the shrimp rolls wrapped in rice paper (very very healthy), and lastly for our entree we ordered the sweet and sour chicken (breaded version) with a side of fried rice. (Omg this was absolutely delicious!

We didn’t have enough room for dessert but we’ll definitely be coming back! 10/10 recommend!“

Also for those who don’t know this area-this place has been around for over 45 yrs cuz I’m 52 yrs old and I remember this Chinese restaurant. I tried one on a rough day, just grabbed it out of curiosity—and it stopped me in my tracks. The first thing I noticed? It smells like a real homemade cookie the second you open the wrapper. None of that weird fake vanilla scent or plastic-y aftertaste like most packaged snacks. Just rich, buttery goodness and that perfect hint of caramel. I looked it up afterward and wasn’t surprised to see it’s made with real ingredients—like all-butter, cage-free eggs, and zero junky additives. You can seriously taste the difference. It’s soft, just the right amount of salty-sweet, and doesn’t feel like it came off a factory line. Honestly, this cookie brought me a weird little moment of peace when I needed it. Like opening up a small bit of home, even when you’re far from anything familiar. If you’re looking for something comforting, real, and actually worth the calories—this is it.“

“This is our go to Chinese spot. Their drive through window makes it easy to pick up especially when you have kids. They are a little expensive compared to the other Chinese restaurants but their food has flavor which makes it worth it! They do not deliver though that’s a down side.

“Great experience from start to finish. Chose this place on a whim to host a special party for my wife. Process was easy, and staff was very responsive in helping me coordinate. Day of food was excellent, bartender/waitress was polite, friendly and super helpful through the entire night. Great first experience and will surely return for just a normal date night. Atmosphere was really great as well, cools 70's retro vibe. Place was well kept and clean.“

“Went on a Friday night for pizza and cheese steak which was fantastic. Saw that there was a full menu and decided to return the next night for dinner. Starting with the Italian wedding soup was a real treat, this could have been the star of the menu if it wasn't for the main dishes we ordered: lobster ravioli, crab cakes, and baked ziti which all were great. Well done il ignore Paolo, we will be visiting again. As a food critic with a masters in the pizza sciences, highly recommend Paolos.“

“Love the small bar vibe. I had the spicy garlic wings & a side salad. The awards don't lie, the wings are super yummy. After reading on here about recent service experiences, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm happy to report that the problematic bartender is no longer here and everyone I encountered was nice, chatty, and helpful. “I found this place while looking for a place to eat Chinese food and let me tell you this place did not disappoint me. Food was great. Service was fast, friendly and respectful. The shrimp fried rice with boneless ribs was amazing. This is the first time that I get tender boneless ribs, usually they are hard and difficult to chew at other restaurants. Here I don't have that issue they are tender and this is why I always go here. The other thing that I've order from here is the shrimp with Broccoli and shrimp fried rice. Also amazing, big shrimps and delicious. The chicken wings are delicious as well. I also like their sesame chicken, the only thing is that you have to ask them to add bean sprouts. But other than that everything is great. Fast service. The prices are fair. Usually when I go I find a parking spot. Dining area was clean. I will continue eating here cause I like this place.“

“My friend and I order sandwiches from V & S (Lancaster Ave) every 2 weeks. Last week, we ordered the Cuban sandwiches for the first time. All the sandwiches I've had there have been wonderful - tasty, full of meat and cheese, rolls fresh. (I wish they still had the prosciutto and provolone like years ago. I loved those!) But the Cubans - not that good. I know we're not in Miami, but it tasted like the sandwiches were pressed on the grill, not on a panini iron. You could even see what might be bits of steak and onions on the outside of the rolls, that contributed to the weird flavor. We'll still order because we haven't had better sandwiches! Not he Cubans. (The fries are great, pizza not.) Keep on cooking!“
