I wish this place well since it’s the only Chinese restaurant in town, however my last experience wasn’t like the first. I could not chew the chicken, neither could my husband. The hot and sour soup is very good though. I think general tsos chicken should be crispy on the outside and tender in the middle and this was neither. Sadly I probably won’t order again but I’ll be back for the soup!
As an avid chinese food fan whos tried all the spots in and near the mon valley, I can safely say this new spot is definitely the best! The portions are always big, the pieces of chicken are all consistently huge and and tasty, no small little shrimp sized pieces and no nasty cartilage/fat bits in the chicken, the crab rangoons are delicious and the eggrolls are great too! Our group of 10 hungry cyclists had a great meal here. The rice noodles and shrimp with pea pods were my favorite. What a find and a nice change of pace from other available dining options on then GAP. Residents of West Newton are lucky to have this in their midst! Although it is mostly a take out restaurant, our group of 10 enjoyed eating around a long table.
