“Actually came here as a second choice. Not from the immediate area, I only had been to a popular bar restaurant up the road. That place couldn't seat our party of 5. We came here. Seated immediately, server was friendly. Pizza and wings were great! The Checkerboard is now my first choice when I'm up this way.“

“Ho Boy, what a find. Perhaps you thought you would be relegated to another "craft lunch" at an "artisanal restaurant". Think again. This classic American eatery will bring to mind the Star Spangled banner and the Golden Days of Yore when steam engines road the rails and you only had two choices for "handhelds". The Dog and the Burger. Come here for a dog or two and you are sure to feel that for once, something was in fact fair trade.“

“I had the shroomin onion burger and it was hands down the best burger I've ever eaten! My family enjoyed their burgers as well. The order of fries was huge! Highly recommend!!“
