“We had Abe’s Hotdogs cater my husbands birthday party with the food truck this weekend. Amazing experience from beginning to end! All messages and communication is timely and super friendly. Pricing is very reasonable and they’re flexible with all their menu options. Best part though — The food was SO good!! “Welcome to my next review. This is Torony's Giant Hot Dogs! Now this is not the original location. If you are from the area back in my youth, this being the late 70's and early 80's, they were located on the corner of route 315 and jumper road in Plains. Speaking with the owner today I was told when PennDOT widened Jumper Road they were forced to move. After that they relocated to a building on Main Street not too far from the arena. Now as the owner told me the second location just didn't work out, so they eventually moved to the current location. Now as per the video it's a nice size location, not too big or too small. As I walked in I did speak with the owner off camera and explained why I do food reviews and in my own way help supporting the locals. Now as per the footlongs, I got one with just mustard and onions, and the other with everything being the mustard, onions, and the sauce. Now for the dogs, I didn't taste a snap, but these were grilled nicely, you got a good number of toppings, the chili had a unique taste, different from all the others. Now they do offer fries and burgers and other items but today it's all about the dogs. When we go Hot Doggin' we don't rate the hot dog we celebrate the hot dog with those awesome condiments. “The two for Tuesday footlong Texas chili dogs are so darn perfect and delicious from The Toasted Bun to the excellent sauce and the quality dog itself when one should fill the average adults it was so delicious I ate them both and it was not a decision I regret. Geared more towards the takeout rather than eat in but that is an option, if you don't have a lot of time on lunch break it's excellent for grab and go! The price is comparable however the quality and flavor is fantastic it automatically makes the price for such a delicious meal more than worth it. I don't mind paying a little extra for good food even though that is not the case here but it's quite upsetting to pay a pretty penny for a meal and still be hungry afterwards once again not something you have to be concerned about at this place 4.9 Stars I think the only way they could get five is if they were giving the hot dogs away I'm looking forward to try more of the great selection that is on the menu“
“I got the pulled pork sandwich and the huluski. I've lived in the area for over 8 years and have been meaning g to stop their and try the huluski and finally did. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I hoped for. The pulled pork was good. The huluski could have used more cabbage.“
“Went for lunch on Father's day and didn't have to wait for a table at the bar, which was fine because my Dad and brother loved playing the games while waiting for our food. I ordered the turkey wrap and it was gigantic! I asked for everything on it and they sure did! The wrap was grilled to a pleasant crisp so it didn't get soggy. A large pile of hot fries and a pickle came with it. My Dad ordered a pizza as usual and it was perfectly done. Our bill was reasonable and our waitress was friendly and made sure we were happy. Glad we chose Checkerboard for my disabled Father's special day. Thank you :)“
“Okay, so let start off by saying there burgers are good. Probably one of the better joints in WB. Better tasting than 5 guys, and definitely cheaper. Better than Red Robin and DEFINITELY cheaper. The only reason for 4 stars, is that there fries are terrible. Like borderline gross. So let me review, burgers? GREAT, definitely recommend. Fries, straight to the trash. Burgers? cooked perfectly, good toppings, good buns, great taste. Fries? absolutely not. We've bought the fries a few times thinking maybe we just got something we didn't like, not the case all terrible. All of their burgers are GREAT/FANTASTIC.“
“I have been here my entire life. So this place is iconic, favorite pizza, favorite wings. Every time I go in here it takes me back to being a kid going out on Friday nights with my grandparents, marveling at the train going around on the ceiling.
