Halal Restaurants in Wilkes Barre, PA

“I've heard great things about this food truck and it's conveniently located in the Citgo parking lot, just a few blocks from the square in WB. The kind woman behind the counter and grill hooked me up with a chicken skewer that would normally go on a gyro, as an add-on, but I had my eyes on the falafel ‘sandwich’ (gyro).

Hand-scooped and fresh-tasting, the falafel popped; I watched her work the griddle until the tasty scoops were golden brown, then placed them on the pita, piled high with fresh cut veggies and a creamy dressing. I had to add the pineapple Fanta, never saw that before so my little guy will love it.

As quickly as I went into the gas station for a few other items, the food was hot and ready. Convenient ways to pay and great service, it was some of the best falafel I've ever had and it's perfect as a gyro.“

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café.
