Smokey Bones Wilkes Barre

The food and service have definitely declined over the years. My friend had gotten the nachos. They arrived without salsa, sour cream and jalapeños. She asked twice, but they were never brought to the table. The pork was very dry. I ordered gluten-free items off the menu and informed my server. My plate arrived with bread on it. The manager came with a new one, but I ended up getting sick which meant they only removed the bread and did not remake the meal. The waiter did not ask if we wanted drink refills. Won’t be back.

The service was great and the place was clean. We were seated quickly and had our order very fast. The food was ok but it wasn't something that made me want to come back. It reminded me of something I could have gotten from the grocery store and put in the microwave. We had brisket, chicken, baked beans, fried pickles, and some other sides. It's worth trying for yourself.

This was a first time coming here. My boyfriend raved about this place since I moved down here from Michigan, said the last time he was here was in December of 2023 with his folks and it was amazing. When I got here today, it was not at all busy the entire time I was there. Thankfully the waitress was nice enough to give us a decent minute to order cuz again first time. I had ordered the 6 oz steak with potato wedges and Mac n cheese, boyfriend ordered a full rack of ribs in the bbq sauce with Cole slaw and Mac n cheese as well, we also had an appetizer of the Korean belly pops. The Korean belly pops were amazing, loved the flavor and everything, but had to wait a minute for those, and was ok with that. My steak I ordered medium rare, was cooked almost medium well with no seasonings at all, the potato wedges were very burnt and tasted oddly of burnt dirt, Mac n cheese had to add salt and pepper to make it better. My boyfriend’s ribs were very dry and his Cole slaw was gross. We paid almost 90 dollars for two people with the meals, appetizers and drinks. My boyfriend is very disappointed that this happened. The entire time we were here it never once filled up or got packed, which felt off for a smoke house. Me and my boyfriend agree we will not be coming here ever again.

I have never had a complaint going to smokey bones. Food and service have always been good. This time around a group of work colleagues went and I wasn't disappointed. Food came in a timely manner was hot and delicious.

Our server Rhianna was very polite, great attitude. Everything was correct and amazing. Definitely will be back. Rhianna also kept checking on us seeing if we needed anything else and it was great having a conversation with her!
