Acme BBQ was our Wedding Caterer & we were DISAPPOINTED!
We had Acme BBQ cater my son's wedding the end of October and everyone was very disappointed. We were already dealing with an outdoor wedding & days of rain, but they should have arrived before the wedding started. I called to touch-base with them because they werent there yet, & letting them know the wedding would be at the pergola (reception area) & not at the pond due to the rain. I even asked if they had forgot as they still were there 1:30p for a 2pm wedding. I was told did you check the contract and they only need to be there 30min before. This is crazy for this type of event, and weather conditions. This means the wedding ceremony would be held where Acme was supposed to be setting up appetizers. Appetizers should be placed before the meal and should be set up so people could eat while photos are being taken. Instead no appetizers were out. I had people coming to be asking where the food was at, and this is at least 20mins after the wedding ceremony. Children were eating the desserts because the appetizers were not set up yet. The meal was late, roasted potatoes were raw that you could not even put a fork through, the green beans were mixed with cooked (army green) and uncooked (bright green), and the coleslaw was so bland (a slaw for pork sandwich and not a coleslaw w-vinegar & sugar & seasoning). Their were also complaints that the pork was dry, but the brisket was good. I had other complaints that the baked beans were not out as they were going through the line for food when it was finally up. I spoke to Acme just before the cake cutting was about to commence bring to her attention that the potatoes were raw, but she tried to tell me they were cooked. I have 165+ guests at this wedding that can tell you differently. After the dessert was served I went to speak with Acme again, due to the numerous complaints, but they just left without speaking to us. I sent an email to Acme addressing these complaints, but never received a response. I could have even sent them a photo of all the potatoes in the garbage because no one could eat them. It was a wedding, special day that this should have been handled professionally, setting up food a head, food that should have been seasoned, cooked properly, etc. They used our warming pans & apparently they forgot to bring water (using our water stored for coffee) and did not watch them causing five pans to be burnt & damaged. Such a disappointment from a caterer that was supposed to have experience & the amount of money that was paid. I am posting this review to let others know of the experience we received, & our disappointment of service & food before you make your decision for a Wedding Caterer.
Response to Acme BBQ: There are untruths in the review Acme BBQ posted, & there is no excuse in not responding to an email sent after an event w-issues (12 days ago). I didn't have time to talk with anyone as I was trying to resolve issues & your rude comments are unprofessional and untrue. The food tables were built-in the pergola. Due to weather conditions, that is why outdoor curtains were used to prevent the rain, but unexpectedly the guys fastened curtains down. If you would have come early, this could have been rectified for you not when everyone is there. Wedding cake has many tiers, & their cake had one-tier to the side (stump), & three-tier to the right (top-tier does not get cut). The cake tiers equals the number of people attending to serve, and was joined w-flowers. FYI I didn't know realize you were leaving nor waive. You should have spoke with us direct before leaving knowing I addressed an issue. To say you did us a favor for catering this event, when in fact we PAID for food & services. It was not given to us. This will be an eye-opener for those that read this review. I had no further communication with you, & wanted to leave an honest review for customers looking for a wedding caterer. The bride was very disappo

I was at a party where Acme Barbecue catered. Sadly, the food was bland. The pulled pork was mushy and bland. The corn casserole seemed undercooked and bland. The coleslaw was just sad and bland. The only thing everyone thought was ok was the Mac and cheese and chicken.
One of our favorite places to eat! Friendly staff! Keep up the good work ya'll!

Don’t know what happened, but I got really sick from the food here. The flavors were good while it lasted, I guess. Probably won’t be coming back.

A bit pricey considering the small portions. I had beef brisket, which tasted good but was a bit dried out. Friend just had a pork sandwich.I got a bunless option. There were like four green beans and a quarter cup of Mac n cheese. Like I said too pricey for small portions like

Just not the same. Prices increased, portion size has decreased. They are literally all about portion control, but the portion is half the size of the container they use. The meats taste good, but 15 bucks for five half slices of brisket is ridiculous. Now I never expect much from people in this area when it come to Collard greens. With that being said Acme should take there greens off the menu, seriously. Any self respecting culinarian knows collards should be chiffonade sliced thinly, WITHOUT the huge stalk the greens itself grew on. Acmes greens had more stalk than actual greens and no flavor or sugar whatsoever. I feel sorry for someone in this area trying greens for the first time and getting those. Customer service wasn't very welcoming. It wasn't bad service, but it wasn't exceptionally good either. No frowns by the employees but no smiles either. Felt like I was being tolerated.

Great place to get some grub. The food was awesome, as always. Unless you go to the patio on a warm day, seating sucks for large men and / or women. If you want good BBQ though it's worth
