The James - An American Kitchen & Bar

Went there for the live music however as the evening went from Twilight to dark the musician didn't have much light to see his music. Enjoyed the food but I did ask for pink on the burger and it was well done. Enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere, it was a beautiful evening

A pleasant stay. Dinner at the James would have been a good experience except for the drunk guys at the bar who were loud and annoying. Food was good though. The drunks finally left and we were able to enjoy the rest of our dinner.

The James has a great upscale casual vibe with really good food and cocktails. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Our server, Kayla was also amazing, super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a nice spot to relax and enjoy a good meal.

Servers were not attentive to the guests at the table. They would walk away in the middle of asking for something. What we did get to the table was good

The James has great food and good service, i have always enjoyed eating here for the service and atmosphere. The staff at the hotel are wonderful i stay here often. I have witnessed more then a few times now that the bar tender Tim is very crude with comments to alot of his customers. It makes for an uncomfortable ambiance. His behavior is something that should be addressed by upper management. The other bartenders are all very professional and welcoming.

Tim is a terrible bartender and my server which was a man gave me the creeps. Other ladies that work there are usually very nice so no companints about them.

Apple parsnip soup was bland and they tried to cover with pepper. The worst soup i have ever had. The tuna bites were almost okay but not fresh. The halibut was also old and not flavorful. The cheesecake was frozen and dried out. You can do better.

Yesterday 2-24-2026 my family and I were craving a good dessert so we decided on going to The James to satisfy our craving. When we got there the waitress came over with an attitude as if we weren’t supposed to be there. (I’ve gone here plenty of times for dessert dates with no issues btw) She asked us what we wanted to drink and then proceeded to sit our glasses at the end of the table, meaning we had to pass our own drinks out. She sat our spoons for our dessert on the table with no napkins and then got an attitude when we asked for plastic silverware instead. I’m not sure if it’s because we are black and Muslim or maybe she was just having a bad day but I do not recommend having her as a waitress. Our desserts were good though🥰

I love coming to the James when I’m in Williamsport. They always have consistently good food and specials. My server Meg was so attentive and knows her way around a cocktail menu.

My husband and I loved the four course Valentine’s Day dinner. Every single course was absolutely delicious. The tables were set up beautifully. The live music was excellent. The service and the staff were on point. It was great experience all around.

Wow. This was the best good I've had in a while. I had the Butternut Squash Tuna salad and my husband had the ribeye. Both were amazing and perfect!

Rodney made our visit to The James an amazing experience. He is super friendly and attentive to the customers. We enjoyed talking with him and he went out of his way for us. The restaurant and bar are modern and upscale. We enjoyed visiting The James while we were in town. The food was good, with a nice variety and reasonable prices. I recommend the chicken quesadilla and margaritas made by Rodney!
