“I rarely have the opportunity to leave Zoeys Farm ?, due to my work and more importantly an elderly father n my pup Zoey. I was stunned by the bartender s steps of service ,,, professionism and manner. Offered me her own food due to the kitchen being closed,, and paid the difference to what a patron couldn't. You do not see that nowadays. Kudos to her and who she is.“

“You Need To Know? Arrived around 5;30 on a friday night & we bellied up to the bar. We ordered hot honey chicken bites, waffle fries, chicken cheese steak with mild sauce, and a BLT Club. The bartender was friendly, helpful, & efficient. He had our orders in quickly & ice cold drinks in front of us. The food did take some time to come out of the kitchen, but the bar food meals were excellent! Kate's Place will definitely be worth another visit. Plenty of TVs & a couple pool tables for some activity Good time! Now You Know! -TBH“

“I went yesterday March 29,2024 at 5:20 pm with my son and girlfriend it was a Great experience. We chose one of the igloos it was really comfy and beautiful. The waitresses and bartenders were attentive and we really felt Welcome. We will be going back! 100% recommended! ❣️We loved everything; The waitresses are very attentive, happy, helpful and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is excellent, the food is delicious and the place is very nice.We recommend it 100%.“

“Authentic Mexican food — SO fresh! The salsa is amazing and there is a big variety of tacos prepared with traditional Mexican ingredients. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I had several questions about some items on the menu I was unfamiliar with- I learned a lot! Portion sizes are very generous -including the $7 Happy Hour Margaritas, which are made with fresh squeezed lime juice. No mixers here! My husband’s comment when we first tasted our food: “they definitely don’t take short cuts here”. This is a great addition to downtown WB - can’t wait to go back!“

“Stepping in here is like taking a step back in time! Everyone is very friendly and the food is very good. Very generous with the portions and what is provided...where else can you go and get soup, salad, your meal and dessert all for one price!! It's very affordable. Highly recommend.“

“I remember going here when I was a little girl. Fast forward...it's still perfect. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants. Dukey's still has it!! My haddock was amazing as was my sister's stuffed lobster. Waitress was a little doll..very attentive but not intrusive. Loved loved loved it. Little piece of heaven.. a hidden gem.“

“This place is a favorite. Great rotating beer selections on draft. Pizza is always amazing. Bartenders know us and our usual order as we are creatures of habit but you can't fake just knowing. If you know, you know. Overall, one of the best places in the valley to just chill. No TVs but internet so great place to just veg on your phone, iPad, or computer with some ear buds. “Loved the stone bar and the atmosphere: good music, lights, decor, everything.Food was decent, wouldn’t say great, j only had the bonfire. Buffalo chicken was good but the cheese sauce wasn’t amazing. Im very picky about cheese though.However the service from Grace was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming.Will definitely visit again!“

“Finally got around to trying both their square and round pizza since it's only $10 for a 16-in. The round has very thin crust which I personally like. I'm not a pizza professor so I can't tell you what kind of cheese or whatever may have gone into the ingredients to give you an idea of what the outcome is but I thought it was good. The slices are definitely not as hefty as you would find at maybe Napoli's or in the Wilkes-Barre area Nello's to give an idea. But for $10 I would not pass this up. As for the square variety again not a pizza professor but it's comparable to most everything else around here. I would say at least in the square tray that I got the crust seemed a little too hard for my liking. But again no joke for a full tray for $10.“

“Can't pass up a Irish Bar and glad I gave Maddy's a try. The Budweiser bottles were ice cold The bartender and people at bar were very friendly. And there's a awesome huge pool table. I had a great time there. Very nice fun friendly atmosphere“

“We had a great dinner with another couple. We tried several items absolutely love the peach and Barada salad and was super surprised at how good their pizza was considering it's not a pizza joint. Service was very attentive, prices were fair and it's really a neat restaurant. We love the atmosphere. We will definitely be going back soon.“

“Went for lunch on Father's day and didn't have to wait for a table at the bar, which was fine because my Dad and brother loved playing the games while waiting for our food. I ordered the turkey wrap and it was gigantic! I asked for everything on it and they sure did! The wrap was grilled to a pleasant crisp so it didn't get soggy. A large pile of hot fries and a pickle came with it. My Dad ordered a pizza as usual and it was perfectly done. Our bill was reasonable and our waitress was friendly and made sure we were happy. Glad we chose Checkerboard for my disabled Father's special day. Thank you :)“

“Little Tex-Mex/American/Polish? Fusion Restaurant with an old American pub attached: Strange first impressions. I didn't know it was possible to put burgers, tacos, and pierogi's on the same menu, so good for them. However, the food was great, as we tried the wings and burger. They cooked my burger perfectly median rare - fantastic. The service was quick and pleasant. The atmosphere was decent, with cool antique decorations scattered on the wall. We will be returning soon.“

“Love this place!! Great food and amazing service!! We tried the Crab Gouda flat bread at the recommendation of Sam and Della and boy were they right!! We also had the Old bay Shrimp, bites and Dry Cajun Shore fries with Santa Fe Ranch!!! Yum to everything!!! We go for the food but even more for the staff. The food was incredible, our server was extremely kind and friendly, the guests were welcoming and it was an overall great environment and experience. “So was recommended by lisa at the pilot. Definitely grateful she did tell me to go here instead of miller ale house. Called, asked if they had Bears game trixie (hope i spelled it right) politely told me they have every game. I asked for nachos jokingly and of course they had. So i parked just my tractor across the street. Plenty of room. I and of course ordered nachos, ordered the small. Omg it was huge and delicious. Way too much lol The bar has lots of locals and everyone is beyond nice and very approachable. I had fun bantering there teams as they did with me. I felt very at home and as if I became part of the community. Of course i had beer , cold and refreshing. Ordered some chicken wings and wow. Cooked right, tasted delicious. Food is all fresh from what i ordered and good Bathroom was super clean I highly recommend and your probably going to have fun. Met the owner , what a guy. “THE DUKE! Don't you dare drive by without stopping for a Duke. My boyfriend and I are moving back to this area and it’s the number one thing we are looking forward to. Both of us were born and raised just outside of Philadelphia and I lived in SP for many years. We know a good cheesesteak. “Enjoyed last night all around! Coconut shrimp with fries, tasty, crispy and more than enough for 2. Ceasars salad was excellent with fresh Parmigiano grated on top, enough for 3. Wife had bone in wings, her comment was extra crispy, as ordered, garlic parm was tangy yet tasty and mild sauce was slightly spicy and excellent! John couldn't have been a better host, greeted us and made sure we got seated at a table we preferred. Our server Kat was attentive and listened to our order and everything was spot on. Out door tiki bar is large and comfortable. Atmosphere is inviting and a jukebox is available for your choice of music. Thank you for a great evening and excellent food. Kudos to Mark, the chef, we will be back again, again and again!“

“Been coming here for over 20 years.. Generations change things, but this family tavern is still the place to be for the corner/old time bar and it's always a good time. Come here for a great night of music/small talk and get together with your friends.. I love this place!“
