My wife and I recently had our wedding reception here. The food catered by Happy Camper Eats and Treats was great, Nathan and crew were amazing and so helpful, the food was delicious, catered to what we wanted and our needs for allergies, etc… The venue was awesome, very friendly staff, plenty of room with the tents and tables, highly recommend!

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after 2:00 p.m. and sat at the bar. It was not busy. The male bartender who saw us walk in and be seated, waited on the people in line that came up from the side lawn area. When those people left, rather than take our order, he went and got a drink. By that time, two more people were in line. He took their orders and once again we were ignored. This happened one final time before we left. There are many other brewery options in York that appreciate the business. We will not be coming back!!

Disappointed. Was going to stop and try the beer but.... The music outside was sooo loud you could hear it a block away. So we were going to go inside; however; they had the inside closed to seating so we left.

The review is split. The actual brewery and outdoor bar are a nice little venue and great way to enjoy craft beer, cocktails and spirits. Our experience was a sour one because the outdoor bar staff mishandled our 2nd order. Had paid up front for beers, then put card out for a tab, which I shouldn't have done granted, then I ordered one regular whiskey shot. When we were finished and ready to leave, I POINT BLANK ASKED THE BARMAN IF WE WERE SQUARE AND GOOD TO GO - HIS RESPONSE WAS YES, ALL GOOD. Then when the charge appears on our credit card finally, it included an 18% tip, which for the service we received was high. It's not worth disputing the small amount involved, but it sure as hell left a sour taste in my mouth. Things happen, when a bar is busy things can be hard to sort out, but missing an open tab after telling a customer everything is good seems like an instance where you forgo the tip and chalk it up to a missed opportunity. Not that we visit town often, but I can promise you I won't return here again, nor will I recommend people go without a warning to watch your tab closely.
Response to owner - it was last Saturday, June 8th late afternoon. The musician had just started playing. When my card was returned to me my assumption, based on the direct question and answer detailed in the comments above, was that it was settled.

Great trivia setup on Thursdays! The drinks are a bit pricey for what you get compared to other places downtown, but it's not too bad and the cocktails are quality.

Really nice downtown venue. Great outside area with live music on Thursdays. Lots of outdoor seating on picnic tables. Was not a huge fan of their beers, but that’s personal choice. Entertainment was very good and enjoyed scenery. Plenty of public parking nearby at paid lots.

Came on a Saturday. Wasn’t even busy. Sat at open seats at bar but was ignore led by bartenders as they continued to take other people that came up from outside . Even asked the bartender if I had to go to the other side to get drinks and he said I’ll be right back and then after his promise, he continued to serve other people and ignore usWe won’t be back!Sad

This establishment truly is a GIFT! Right in the heart of Downtown York, PA, you'll find mouthwatering food, excellent beer and spirits, entertainment, unique events, and friendly, hard-working staff. There's always fun to be had at Gift Horse. If you haven't been there, get there!

My husband and I were in town visiting from North Carolina. We came out to Gift Horse Brewing Company. I really enjoyed the relaxed, laid-back feeling of the outdoor bar area. All the bartenders were all really great, I enjoyed the conversations I had with them. My husband loved both the beers he tried. Great place!
