Hands down the best ice cream in York. Even with long lines. They move you through pretty quickly. Highly recommend the blue monster or New York cheesecake

Handel's makes amazing ice cream and we love coming here. The downside is the lines tend to be long and service is super slow. The staff are very friendly, they just don't have much sense of urgency, even with a line around the building. They take their time. Overall, great place!
I've been coming here for almost 18 years and always loved the ice cream. It's the only place I ever stood in line fighting sub freezing temperatures to eat ice cream. Sadly I must say that my experience has changed. The texture of the ice cream seems different lately. It doesn't have that creamy mouth feel that I'm used to. Seems more airy as if it was whipped. Even watching the employees trying to dip it and place it on the cones, you can tell something is off. Many of the better flavors weren't in stock tonight, but that probably wouldn't have mattered. Won't be going back any time soon. There are other options in the area that are now better.

Always love coming here but today was different. They only had 1 girl working the front while there was a long line. There was a guy in the back making the ice cream and he wasn’t wearing a beard net. I personally wouldn’t like if I got a piece of someone’s beard in my ice cream.
