I just wish it were open to the public!!! It's a really cool piece of history and architecture. There is no parking unless you are renting the shoe. There is a small business right across the street where I'd recommend parking your car if you want to get out and look around.
There is a fence around the Haines Shoe House property, no sidewalk, and a bit of a steep hill on the side that shares the road, so walk carefully.
We stayed one night and it was really fun. It was beautifully restored and I especially loved the period kitchen with original cabinets. Such a special place and a great way to enjoy a piece of US roadside history.
Photo as you pass or stop in. If you are headed west is on the left side of the highway immediately after the bridge. Keep an eye out. If you are headed east it’s in the right side of highway 30 just before the bridge (Shoe House Road) and you can see it from the highway.

It was built it 1948 and if you were in your honeymoon or a senior you could stay for free.
