“A nice rooftop pool bar at the top of the Saccharum hotel with a stunning view and very friendly, attentive staff. The menu had surprisingly original and elaborate dishes along with simple pool bar classics like pizza and sandwiches. On a hot day, we opted for a variety of cold and hot starters and desserts instead of main meals. The watermelon salad was an absolute highlight, thanks to its surprising texture and savory/salty contrast. I also recommend going upstairs and visiting the beautiful Chef's garden, where apparently all the ingredients of our meal were grown.“
“A small restaurant at a dead end with a magnificent view. It has a very limited menu but what they have is all homemade and cooked fresh. I especially recommend the chicken balls. The host is very friendly and loves to tell you about what to do and see in Madeira. It is very inexpensive. For four people eating and having multiple drinks we spent €50. It's a good place to go if you arrive late in the evening. It closes at 9pm. There is plenty of parking. It's very dated inside but don't let that put you off.“

“A Venda Do André ir skaista vieta Madeirā, kur var baudīt gan vietējos dzērienus, gan tradicionālu atmosfēru. Ponča ir viens no slavenākajiem un tradicionālākajiem Madeiras dzērieniem! Izbaudījām marakujas un apelsīnu pončas, bija divi brīnišķīgi veidi, kā izbaudīt tradicionālo madeirisko dzērienus. Abi piedāvā svaigu un eksotisku garšu, kas ideāli iederas A Venda Do André atmosfērā.“

“A must stop. They don't speak English, if you ask for an English menu they shake their heads. In a few words, they will tell you what, of course, has nothing to do with what you think. Here you really arrive in Madeira. You can eat well for cheap. It is not a place reserved for tourists. But Google is your friend, you can figure out what's going on and they don't care about you. ? Then you'll get something to eat. But you get the feeling of going to a local on Sunday. Don't ask for a cheese sandwich, because cold Gepsonka cold cheese is cold Madeira bread. But they bring it out in 1 minute.“

“Das Restaurant Poncha do Lombo Doutor ist absolut fantastisch! Die Tapas-Platte war einfach himmlisch, jede einzelne Komponente perfekt zubereitet und unglaublich lecker. Das Restaurant ist gut mit dem Auto erreichbar, und man kann direkt vor dem Eingang parken. Ein echter Geheimtipp für Feinschmecker auf Madeira. Absolut empfehlenswert!“
“The coffee is very good, the service is nice, the place is nothing special, there are a few tables and chairs outside, but there is no particular view because it is on the street. Getting to the place is very poorly marked, up a large hill from the end of the trail. However, it is worth being afraid of coffee or beer etc. before returning to Lavada Night“
“Its 11:00 pm & all restaurants were closed by the beach! This is a safe haven for late night eaters ! Ate ham & cheese toast & steak special sandwich that hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. Drinks were delicious. Definitely recommend visiting.“

“(Translated by Google) Let's be consistent. There are no different ponchas here, but there are good pitanga and strawberry/lime cocktails that are well worth a detour from the main roads.(Original)Vamos ser coerentes. Não há aqui ponchas diferentes mas há bons coquetails de pitanga e morango/lima que merecem bem um desvio das estradas principais.“

“Good time at Bar Stone House on Merida Island
Hey everyone, I just had a fantastic dinner at Bar Stone House on Merida Island. If you’re looking for a place that’s simple and unpretentious, this is it. The setting is super chill, with a second-floor balcony that gives you an amazing ocean view. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy your meal.
The food focuses on traditional island cuisine, and it’s all super fresh and flavorful. Even better, the whole meal, including wine, was just 60 euros. Seriously, you can't beat that price for what you get.
Don’t let the laid-back vibe fool you—it may not look upscale, but the quality of the food and service is top-notch. The staff were really friendly and attentive, making sure we had a great time.
Whether you’re hanging out with friends, family, or just looking for a nice evening out, Bar Stone House is a must-visit. It’s got that cool, Miami vibe but keeps things simple and authentic. Definitely check it out next time you’re on the island!“

“This is one of the authentic bars in Madeira. Starting from the front door itself, above which something about tradition is written, to the door handle itself, which is original and over 100 years old. The floor is made of cobblestone, old stone, like Skadarlija in Belgrade or in general the old pedestrian zone in cities. Inside there is an old anchor, lanterns, machines used to make wine, as well as various other decorative items. The choice of drinks is a separate story and I hope I won't scare you if I tell you that there are old bottles of wine that cost 2000 euros. Good old rum is served here as well as standard drinks. The view is beautiful because the sea is right across the street. Truly a place you should visit if you're passing by.“

“The place is fantastic, close to a beautiful fall and the ocean. We stopped there on 07.05.24 around 20:00 after a day trip on the island and we were lucky to find it. We ate shrimps with fries and local Madeira bread (with butter & garlic) + we drank 2 Coral beers and paid around 25 Euros. We did not expect to be received so well in a small restaurant on the side of the road. Also, 5 stars for the cleanliness of the bathroom.“

“Friendly staff. The service is fast. It has a variety of side dishes (lupinions, chicken wings...). Com. Good views of the valley. Mountain range. Of water. Very popular place with. Few places abroad. It has indoor seating. There are good punches of various types. Clean bathrooms.
Parking: Parking on the side of the road but. Away from her. Leaving the parking lot is sometimes difficult because there is a lot of traffic on the road, hence the need for assistance from someone on the street to make the exit maneuver.“

“We were referred to this restaurant by a local. It's a nice restaurant with a fantastic view over Calheta Beach and the sea. The portions are more than generous and are still digestible even after several visits. Very well priced: Paid today for the Picado de Frango, small version, €10.90 and the Prego Especial €7. Friendly service, clean toilet facilities, everything was great. We would be happy to go there again.“

“Phenomenal, the host is an institution and everyone knows immediately who the chairman is. Even without language skills great communication. The poncha as he makes it-original-sweet-everything calls for more-excellent alternative to the hotel. people dare you!“
“Best prego’s on the island! We stopped in by chance and the service was superb. We loved our laid back trip to the island and the warm hospitality of the locals. Coral preta in ice cold glasses to start followed by the best pregos and hand cut chips on the island. We rounded offf our snack with a bica (espresso) and made a few more visits during our two weeks on the island and were never disappointed.“
“Loved the gambas: the sauce is to die for! Top dish!!! Friendly service. Nice seaview. Calamari was OK, good sauce, but we had better (and far worse) this is a 7/10. This is probably a dish they don't prepare completely themselves. So it's a suggestion for their cook :-) First time we tried the lapas: tasty.“

“A very cozy restaurant. With a very simple, beachy decoration, with direct views of the sea, it has a terrace on the shore of the beach. The waiter very attentive and friendly. A simple and picturesque place, if you pass by don't hesitate to come in, we stopped to snack, we enjoyed some grilled limpets, fried squid, coconut bolo bread, some of us tried to drink Poncha, others Nikita and of course the Coral beer, all very delicious, ideal to enjoy the direct view of the sea." Highly recommended.“

“When you go to a beach front restaurant it is reasonable to be cautious about the quality and taste and service. Here the food was very reasonably priced. Pizza is freshly made to order and even a good old British fish n chips with banana is at a reasonable price. Situated next to the (imported) sandy beach it is ideal to keep you hydrated, fed and in budget. Staff are friendly. Rebecca our waitress was lovely.“

“A great and affordable restaurant in the beautiful town of Sao Vincente. It is integrated into the narrow, charming streets of this town. The restaurant also has Polish accents, which pleasantly surprised me:
Polish flag, sports club scarves and great service who knows basic Polish phrases.
It is worth visiting and tasting delicious Portuguese dishes.
