“A magnificent surprise during the trek in the Levada dos 25 Fontes. You can also get there by leaving the car on the nearby road and walking 200 meters downhill, but we found it on the trekking route. The pasteis de nata are worth it, hot and delicious“
“Went there to have a little drink. Ordered a beer and a wine. Wine was from a tetra pack, but still tasty. It cost a total of €2.20, so basically nothing. There is seating and parking spaces. Woman behind the counter was very friendly. Gladly again.“

“A quiet and ideal place for a rich breakfast with a base of Bolo do Caco, a product that represents one of the many specialties of the island of Madeira. When you pass through Calheta, you cannot avoid the "Bolo do Caco" restaurant in Calheta.! Enjoy your meal!!!“

“Amazing value for money.
We got bread and rolls for our hikes from there every morning. We also took the chicken pizza and some other savoury treats with us and everything was tasty.
We treated ourselves to a breakfast of cake one morning as there are soooo many to choose from. The slices are enormous.
Would recommend to have breakfast there every day to try everything. I tried a lot in a week but still feel I am missing out on some things :)“

“This is how I imagined food in Madeira, outside, grill, yum! It could still be spiced up a bit, but we've already gotten used to the fact that Madeircans simply don't season their food much.
We almost left because it took a really long time for them to at least take our order and we were in a bit of a hurry. It made a bad impression.“
“Excelente home made food prepared daily. No menu, just 1 meal on offer daily. This is called ‘Prato do dia’ and the main clientele are local workers. Delicious traditional food - not veggie or vegan friendly - and you have the choice of a full portion or half. Highly recommend.“

“Delicious seafood restaurant with an amazing terrass with seaside view. We arrived quite late (30min before closing) but luckily they were still willing to prepare a delicious meal for us. Fresh and large portions! Great price-quality. Inside there is also a screen to watch football such as European championship for example.“

“This is a typical local smoll bar, you can have something to eat/drink even try local snacks and drinks.
Parking: It has around 10 parking spaces next to the entrance of the bar, free of charge.
Wheelchair accessibility: That is a flat entrance, same level as the parking lot“

“Our lunch at the Lavrador São Vicente restaurant was a real highlight of our stay in São Vicente. We tried the grilled mussels and the fish of the day (sea bass) and were amazed by the quality and taste of the food. The mussels were grilled to perfection and the sea bass was fresh and superbly prepared.
The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Despite the high quality of the dishes, the prices are more than fair, making this restaurant a must for anyone in São Vicente. The service is also particularly noteworthy: the service was extremely nice and made us feel very welcome.
Overall, we can only warmly recommend the Lavrador São Vicente restaurant. If you are in São Vicente, you definitely shouldn't miss this culinary experience!“

“This is one of the authentic bars in Madeira. Starting from the front door itself, above which something about tradition is written, to the door handle itself, which is original and over 100 years old. The floor is made of cobblestone, old stone, like Skadarlija in Belgrade or in general the old pedestrian zone in cities. Inside there is an old anchor, lanterns, machines used to make wine, as well as various other decorative items. The choice of drinks is a separate story and I hope I won't scare you if I tell you that there are old bottles of wine that cost 2000 euros. Good old rum is served here as well as standard drinks. The view is beautiful because the sea is right across the street. Truly a place you should visit if you're passing by.“

“This is where your day in São Vicente begins. Very good coffee (Chinesa), delicious cakes (large selection, everyone will find something for themselves) and friendly service. Adding mountain and ocean views, we have perfection. For dinner, I recommend Picado - delicious.“

“I was only there for the coffee and ice cream but it's definitely a place I like to spend time. One pool is free to use and there is free parking.
Parking: Enough for being easily parked in weekdays.

“Best prego’s on the island! We stopped in by chance and the service was superb. We loved our laid back trip to the island and the warm hospitality of the locals. Coral preta in ice cold glasses to start followed by the best pregos and hand cut chips on the island. We rounded offf our snack with a bica (espresso) and made a few more visits during our two weeks on the island and were never disappointed.“

“When you go to a beach front restaurant it is reasonable to be cautious about the quality and taste and service. Here the food was very reasonably priced. Pizza is freshly made to order and even a good old British fish n chips with banana is at a reasonable price. Situated next to the (imported) sandy beach it is ideal to keep you hydrated, fed and in budget. Staff are friendly. Rebecca our waitress was lovely.“

“A local pub, I love such places and this atmosphere. We drank coffee, ponchos, ate ice cream and got free beans for a snack. (EDIT: these are not beans, but edible lupine) The garden is partially under a metal roof - perfect for hot weather.“
