There's something for everyone to eat, with there even being a turkey steak on the menu. The size of the ice-cream here is also massive, and I was barely able to finish mine. “I visited on Wednesday 10th July as a place I had saved on my maps while visiting Portugal, and I was happy I did. such a lovely warm welcoming visit and a nice atmosphere to watch the match without all the madness of the strip. I was a solo traveller and felt so comfortable visiting the Yorkshire tavern by my self (felt like my local at home ) they looked after me and so did the other holiday visitors and helped me get a taxi back to my hotel so I did not walk down the mad strip by my self. the local beer was so nice and I enjoyed the company of everyone there while watching the match, like I said felt like home from home. thank you so much for your lovely welcoming and atmosphere, I did truly have a good night. “I've visited Paulo's Bar numerous times on 4 of the 5 occasions that I have visited Albufeira (the bar was closed for the winter when I was there last November - and I missed it!). Paulo is the friendliest and funniest guy you will meet while in Albufeira - only Pearsie at Jinky's Bar is as funny and friendly as Paulo is. The Bar is a wee gem of a place, great to just sit out with a few beers and watch the world go by and it is one of those bars where you are never on your own for long as it is always only a matter of time before you are in company with others or with Paulo himself. I can't recommend this wee gem of bar highly enough - if you are in the Old Town, pop in and find out for yourself why I recommend it so highly. As for negative reviews posted earlier, well, not everyone is a pleasant and respectful guest and Paulo, to his credit, does not stand for any nonsense, for the benefit, pleasure and comfort of his guests whom he values greatly, which is why so many visitors return year after year and often several times each year. Because he does not allow Stag and Hen parties, Paulo creates an atmosphere in his bar that is suitable and conducive to solo guests, couples and families, unlike many of the bars around the Old Town. When you are in Albufeira, pop in for a few drinks and see why I rate this wee bar, and Paulo, so highly - I'm certain that you won't regret doing so!“

“My wife and I decided to eat out at Invictus last night and we were so happy that we did, the food and the service was excellent. Unfortunately we do not speak Portuguese but that didn’t make ordering difficult as the menu is in English. We both had the same starter and we chose chicken and steak for our main courses, both were cooked to perfection. The Chocolate cake for dessert was tasty. There was a substantial drinks menu made available to us and Alcohol free beer was one of them. Overall, it was a lovely meal and definitely value for money. After the meal we were treated to an evening of live music from the band in the downstairs bar, they were really good. We will certainly return to Invictus.“

“First went to drop in bar over the Easter bank Holiday 2024 on a complete whim it was pissing down so jumped in there and was greeted by the main man joe. We ended up having a good sesh in 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. Joe is a top guy, great barman with a huge heart. Portugals finest. We then recently came back from a 7 night stay and headed straight over to see joe watched the champs league final and the 5vs5 boxing think we walked in at 8pm and left at 4am.....don't ask but it was a great laugh. The lunch was lovely, beef and pork, roasties, carrot and swede, cabbage, green beans, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, followed by homemade choice of desserts all for 14 euros. We were made to feel so welcome. The family made the afternoon, and they were so friendly. We had a fabulous few hours. There was also a singer who was very good. “Lima is a small family run restaurant just near the Brejos/ Montechoro roundabout and near the new Intermarche Hypermarket. My family and friends have been patrons of this superb eatery for 19 years. Remarkable value down to earth meals. I particularly recommend the Seabass with potatoes and salad. But ask them to hold off on the amount of salt they tend to cook with. Also they have a lovely local white veno verde on tap ,- great fizzy taste. Recommended.

“Came here on a Tuesday night. Most other places were closed. I had read before I left UK that the chicken was good. After a long days walk, the nibbles (cheese, bread and olives) were devoured, then we shared the chef salad - nice, then a plate of chicken, ribs and chips were shared (€15). These were piping hot and super delish. Lip smackingly good. All washed down with a bottle of red (Sossego) which was great too.Great value and fully recommend.“

Ziggy the owner (a good guy) is changing the name shortly to Stardust but things will stay the same. Recommended to us by Alan Smith owner of the Britannia (which he sold during Covid)in the New town and moved back to Liverpool. Just go there and have some good banter.“

Everyone is friendly, the breakfast buffet was incredible and had many options, the pool staff was always accommodating and the facility was very clean and inviting.
