“I have been in Portugal for 20 days in various places but this is the best restaurant I have frequented.
Simple in its appearance but delicious in the preparation of the menu which was abundant and superlative.
Good wine and appetizers offered at the entrance are truly excellent and not just for presentation.
The bill was very honest and the staff very friendly even though I don't know the Portuguese language at all. Thank you with all my heart!“

“A very convenient place right outside Vila Nova de Foz Coa. On our way from Bragança to Serra de Estrela, it allowed us to visit the Museum and have a very good lunch within a limited schedule. We had stuffed mushrooms, rice and mushrooms, various vegetables in puff pastry, dry sausage and chorizo. And an excellent chocolate mousse. We had a reservation for 4 people in a nice part of the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were placed in the cafeteria. After a friendly complaint, they moved us to a much nicer place in the restaurant. “Absolutely fantastic food and service. We wanted a break from fish (they also serve fresh fish) and ordered the Argentinian Picanha with cheese for 2 as it was recommended by the server. The meat is delicious and well cooked, and it is a large portion which includes fries, rice, beans and the best chorizo I tried to date. The oranges and grilled pineapple were also a nice touch. Bring cash and your appetite.“

“It was great being back at this beautiful restaurant again. We were warmly welcomed by Eduardo and his team. It was a lovely evening so we were able to sit on the terrace with a fantastic view of the sea. The ice cold beer was a welcomed relief from the heat and the food and service was up to its usual high standard. They serve the best Pulpo à Lagareiro which is my dish of choice. Can’t wait to be back next year and bring other members of our family who have not yet had the pleasure of dining hear.“

Had sardines and fillet steak. Both were cooked very well with good seasoning but the fillet steaks were truly excellent, the best we've had in a very, very long time.

“It's a shame, we wanted to eat there, as always, and weren't even allowed to bring the dog with us on the terrace next to the entrance. Apparently that would be forbidden by law. This is nonsense, these laws are only constructed by the restaurant owner. Other restaurants in town even allow our dog into the restaurant. It's a shame we can't go out to eat there anymore.

“Loved this place. The atmosphere was incredible with live music and a very homely feel. The staff are very attentive and kind. The food was lovely and authentic; definitely freshly made. The chips especially were incredible. Prices were solid too, meals around €10 each and soft drinks were all around €2.50. We turned up without a booking and they were full so we booked for a future date, so definitely book in advance.

Had the chicken bitoque which I'd never had before but it was great.

Would definitely return and recommend.

“We go here for lunch almost once a week. The food is traditional Portuguese and very tasty. I always end up ordering the Porco de amêijoas (pork with clams) it’s delicious. And you have to try the desserts. My favourite is Arroz doce but they are all worth a try and homemade. Anna and her son, Carlos, speaks English so no language barrier.

“Went here to eat twice, the first time we had piri piri chicken and chicken on a skewer. Both tasted heavenly. The second time we had paws on the coast and chicken on a skewer, which was also delicious.

“This place is a proper hidden gem! It doesn’t look like much from the outside and is a bit funny to get to but oh my god the food was amazing. The service is fantastic, very traditional quality of service that you rarely see anymore. I loved how they didn’t have menus but rather the menu is written on a board that they move around the restaurant. We were so impressed we came twice during our one week holiday in the Algarve. We ordered Prato del dia. The soup was amazing… everyone was a bit uncertain about having soup on a hot July day but it was the best soup I’ve ever had.
