“It cost around €13/person, but 2 people were 2 children, they shared a dose in halves and were satisfied, there were 2 other people who also shared the dose. On the other hand, we also overindulge in drinks. In short, the doses are very well served and it is not expensive.Food:Pataniscas were good.House-made cod, very good.Secret, very good.Turkey bites, the kids didn't complain.Picanha, the only drawback, it was tough to chew, after which I almost needed a masseur. Another person said he had gone there and the same thing happened to him.Bread, I didn't really like the visual aspect, the eyes eat it too. They have a menu with a lot to choose from.Service, ok, nothing to highlight. They are only open on Sundays.“

“Fantastic! With no choice (and thank goodness), we were served authentic wonders, from dates with bacon to beef tongue sandwiches and even the best pudding, which was made from mountain cheese!!!! This cozy space has a different concept, as the menu changes daily according to fresh local products! A true gem in Évora! I will come back as often as possible!
Reservation in advance mandatory.
More than fair price for the quantity and quality presented!!!“

“It was a great opportunity to experience traditional Portuguese home cooking. The service, especially from the staff, was pleasant and good.
I experienced Grandma Secret and Tomato Soup, recommended traditional dishes whose names I can't remember.
It felt salty, but it was still worth enjoying.
It was especially nice to be able to order 1/2 the main dish.“

“Homemade food, very delicious and abundant. Maybe we were guilty of gluttony and there was food left over.
We ordered the cod with spinach and a combination plate of pork fillet with delicious fries, egg, rice and salad.
The attention of 10, very friendly.“

“Simply exceptional!! Alexa served us (Amazon has nothing to do with it...) she speaks Italian very well and is truly a lovely person, if you go ask for her. We ate very well, to enjoy more things he recommended half portions, which are not half portions, far from it!!! Too bad we only stayed in Evora for one day. Insignificant prices. Well done.“

“Another pleasant surprise in Évora. Mr Oliveira's friendliness and extremely well prepared and tasty food. 12 seats only. Without reservation, impossible. At the entrance, a sheep's cheese of the Gods and a partridge pie. Main dishes include shrimp with green herbs - souflê (champion of the day), cod and lamb with potatoes. All accompanied by a 15° red from Tiago Cabaço, from the tasty Alicante Boushet grape.“

“If you want amazing pork, migas and coffee, go here! The black pork was so succulent, and the migas was to die for! The staff were so kind, and even though I didn't speak much Portugese I felt right at home. For the quality of the food, the prices are excellent as well - I would have paid double! 10/10!!“

“I stopped by for lunch and was the only person in the place for most of my meal. The food and wine were lovely. The gentleman who served me kind and charming. However, I walked out after paying dinner time prices for a dinner meal at lunchtime. 36€ for an entree, glass of wine and water.
Would highly recommend for dinner (not lunch) and definitely make reservations!“

“Outstanding choice. Perfect location as it is walking distance from the old town in Evora The atmosphere is clean and simple tavern style. The service is perfect. The restaurant is owned by husband and wife team that ventured into their own venue during Covid. You can’t miss having a great time and eating out of the ordinary. Enjoy!“

“We had an enjoyable dinner. The staff really hustle to keep the food moving and drinks filled. All the dishes we had were of high quality, and enjoyable. The Mel e Noz cake was probably the best I’ve had. Service was a little slow in the beginning, but improved as the night continues. When considering the number of wait staff and tables, I felt the kitchen and staff performed excellent. Obrigado por tudo.“

“A great restaurant in Évora, quite hidden, you have to climb a few stairs to get to it. Inside it has a cozy decor giving the feeling of being in a grandmother's house.
The waitress was 5*, very friendly, always asking if we needed anything and always ready to clarify everything. And he even gave the recipe for the fantastic Lima mousse.
The food is very good and very well prepared, we also had the pleasure of meeting the cook who was a fantastic woman.
I recommend the Garlic Trench, Lime Mousse and the Condensed Milk Cheesecake.
Unfortunately I didn't take any photos, as I was very hungry, but I will go back to try other dishes again.“

“For me, it's the café of my childhood, where I would go when I was at my grandparents' house. The employees, the boss and family all knew me. It was where the best pies in the world were eaten, where "Totobola" was played, at the time it was all there was or little else. Now it continues to be a typical coffee from Arraiolos, Alentejo and Portugal. May there continue to be places like this, typically Portuguese, for now with many local patrons.“

“Wonderful experience at Botequim da Mouraria. We arrived 15 minutes before opening and secured a cozy spot. We tried a few dishes, each delicately flavored and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous and satisfying. It was a lovely way to end our trip to Evora.“

“A fantastic place, where everything went beautifully, the friendliness, the professionalism, the quality of the food, the wonderful space, the greatest quality being Humility, (the quality that makes us great), with which they welcomed me from beginning to end. “

“A pleasant surprise. It was recommended to me. The dishes are super economical and homemade food. Good quality/price ratio. The space is not very large, although it has an outside terrace, so in winter it is more difficult to have a table available. According to those who like it, the molotov is the best they have ever tasted. The cuttlefish pickle is delicious. There is parking nearby just before entering the wall. Visiting!“

“The food was very good but a language barrier caused an issue with one of our orders. Something lost in the communication with our server. Server removed a sauce from an order when NO such instructions were given. We simply pointed to the entrees we wanted on the menu.“

“Great quality for the price you’re paying. Not many options to choose from, but if you want to try Alentejo’s traditional food without spending a fortune, that’s the place you’re looking for.
When I was there the place was full of locals and the owner was very friendly ?
Parking: City center - hard to find parking. Not expensive though.
Kid-friendliness: The place is very small, but with a bit of luck you might find a spot to park your kid’s stroller.“

“It's a very nice burger spot, I can't deny it. The burger is delicious, but it feels like a bit undercooked. They were too shy to ask how we wanted it, like they were afraid to get too personal. For the buns, they could use a little excitement. They were a bit boring. As for the fries, they're amazing with that aromatic seasoning, but they were a bit too oily. Maybe they could search YouTube for "how to get rid of excessive oil." Overall, I liked it! It's definitely worth a try ?.“
“Good place to eat. It is medium price and normal quantity but very good food. Picapau, cod and Portuguese-style meat, delicious.
The place is very cool and quiet.
The service was a bit slow, it took them a long time to serve.“

“Great experience and location! The house rose was delicious. The host was so friendly and gave us many winery recommendations. My husband had the pork cheeks and I had the grilled chicken with demi-glace, both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. We will return when back in Évora!“

“Menu for a terrible QRCode. A person wants to be relaxed when choosing what to have for dinner, and they have to be tied to their cell phone... What's worse is that it's poorly organized, you can't understand anything and it's also very slow to load!“
“I was really happy to found this restaurant and having lunch there. I am vegan and this was heaven for me! Even my husband who is not vegan loved the food, the service (a very kind lady), and the ambience. Highly recommended!

“We went on recommendation from Google. Typical food from Évora, I particularly liked the partridge preparation. The waiter was very helpful and explained some dishes that we were unfamiliar with. The restaurant is well maintained. We made a reservation. I just didn't like the place where we stayed, in the basement, I would have preferred to have stayed on the top floor (ground floor) but at the moment I didn't say my preference. Fair prices for the service, minus water at €4. The value of the prepared dishes is fair!????and the egg sweets, recommended by the attendant, were really worth discovering!“

“A very popular restaurant, subject to reservations, with very tasty Alentejo food, made with quality products such as meat, cheese, olives, olive oil, wine and even bread for the migas that accompany almost everything. Good atmosphere, interesting decor. On the back wall there is an oven and in front is the restaurant room, which in the past, when the oven was used, was called a porch. I think this is the origin of the name. Decorated with objects formerly used in agriculture and for use in the oven. Very interesting“

“Careful and elegant space maintaining the old style, decorated with regional elements, the entrance through a large room, the several adjoining rooms are increasingly smaller until a small room with an intimate atmosphere, option of a terrace with some natural shade from the trees. Cozy atmosphere. Several typical entries are presented. We tried the suckling pig, good with crispy skin, but I've had better in Alentejo, I expected a little more as it's the specialty, the cod migas in the tarro were good, although for my personal taste I found them too dry, the dogfish was excellent as well. like aged meats. I was curious about some more specialties, which will be for the third visit. Careful plating. Professional and attentive staff despite some “pressure” in the initial order.
Vegetarian options: No specific menu, with one or two starters in concept
Dietary restrictions: Nutritional information
Parking: At the back there is a kind of park, it's not very big, and there are several parking spots nearby.

“The typical restaurant with incredible pizzas.
When you enter, no one thinks that you are going to be surprised and after eating the pizza (the house specialty) you are sure that you will come back.

Kid-friendliness: It's all thought out.“

“Very good and simple restaurant. Delicious food and the price is also good. There are several options as daily dishes, but there are also other options on the menu. The white house wine is delicious. Every time I've been I've had an excellent experience. Luis (attendant) is friendly. It takes a little longer than other restaurants, but the food is made to order.
Parking: There is paid parking around. But you don't pay on Sundays. You can find free parking nearby too.“

“Located in a very central and very touristy area, it ends up presenting a traditional culinary offering with a different touch, especially noticeable in the quality of the meat. The grilled land and sea, at the right point, does not disappoint!“
“Great little local cafe! We had lunch there and had a great time. The dishes are good, plentiful and inexpensive. The owner is adorable, and even though she doesn't speak English well, she knows how to make herself understood. 15€ for a sandwich, a local cassoulet, a coke and a huge glass of wine. We were full! “We stopped for dinner on Sunday evening, the food was truly delicious and the place was very nice and clean. It is a place where typical dishes and products from the area are served. The portions are very generous. The menu is available in English, French and Spanish, as well as Portuguese of course. The typical dishes of the day are only listed on the Portuguese menu so I recommend you take a look at it and ask the waiters for information, the staff is very kind and helpful, they speak English and understand Italian. “We went for lunch as a family, there were 5 of us, we ate octopus feijoada and veal and chicken bites. The food was really tasty and well served, the price was quite fair in relation to the quality. I thought the service wasn't very friendly, and there was only one person serving/lifting/taking care of the lunch room.
Taking everything into account, I rate it 4 stars because the service could be better, the food is really good and I recommend visiting.“

“If you like stew, this is your place.
Small place with 4 tables, where you don't have to bother ordering anything other than the drink.
It is a homemade food place where they serve a Portuguese stew of chickpeas, pasta and vegetables with a good exquisite broth. Then the sacraments, chorizo, blood sausage, bacon and meat are served. Afterwards there is usually fruit and coffee for €12 per person, without a doubt a cheap place to eat well.“

“It’s really good especially considering it’s a hotel restaurant. You can’t beat the exterior and ambiance. Beautiful arches! The service is fantastic, so fantastic. The food is on the higher end price wise but also quality wise. Everything we had was delicious. The porco preto basically melted in my mouth. I don’t like meringue but their dessert was beautiful, interactive, and not too sweet. It was honestly a great meal even though we were exhausted that night. We had the red wine that’s made there, and it was very good. They also gave us glasses of champagne that’s made there (well sparkling wine) which is our favorite way to start a meal! Even better we were able to bring what we couldn’t finish to our room.“
