“The food was really flavourful, the place was really small but didn’t bother us much, the food came no more than 20 minutes after we ordered, there wasn’t so many options of Asian cuisine mostly just curries fried rice soup and samosa and spring roll starters, the customer service was really nice with kind and friendly servers.Overall amazing food but not many seating for parties or big family’s.“

“We visited Avista three times during our thirteen days in Madeira and enjoyed every visit, to the extent that we did not recognise the negative comments in some other reviews. On each occasion our meals were outstanding (each course was stunning but my last meal of beef tartare, tuna on the josper with barbecued pineapple and mashed potato (inspired by Joel Robuchon), and crème brûlée was simply stunning. The service was also outstanding and while it is probably unfair to identify one person, I will - our favourite darts player merits special attention and we look forward to hearing how he did in the nationals during our next visit.
So, to put it simply, Avista is stunning and unequivocally our favourite restaurant.“

“The first time we came to an Indian restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. All very delicious and a super familiar and friendly treatment. They gave us two starters while the dishes came, although the truth is that they brought them out very quickly. It's a pleasure to go to places where they serve you so well. Price quality is great. If you have never tried it, I recommend it.“

“We ordered the samurai sharing platter, and we would highly recommend it. It is great value for money. It was so fun to share and try all the different sushi's. The flavours were exceptional, and the service was incredible. The food was so good that we decided to order another plate of sushi based on our servers recommendation, and the chocolate brownie dessert sushi is a must try. We loved every aspect of this restaurant, and it created a magical evening. If you love sushi, then this is the place to go.“

“A decent sushi place in Madeira. I am a big sushi fan and I have been to Japan and Dusseldorf many times for very good sushi for good prices too, so I can compare to what I am used to eat. These sushi's are decent (I would just change the rice and make it less squeezed or pressed, it is nice to see the big grain of rice ) and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.Price wise I found that was a bit expensive for just the Maki, but the special rolls are fine. The staff is friendly and will assist you quickly, there was not much waiting time. Recommend if you are looking for a nice sushi dine with friends.“

“Super delicious sushi! Also something different with strawberries or pineapple. Had 32 pieces of the boss's choice for €32.50, fair price! The sushi is wrapped in very little rice, so it's not as filling as you might be used to. The spring rolls to start with are only 2 pieces each, but they are homemade.“

“We have never had such delicious Indian food! Perfectly seasoned and well-filled dishes. We had Aloo Gobi and Paneer Matar with vegetable Beryani, highly recommended. For €30 pp we were done including drinks.
Vegetarian options: Indian food always has many vegetarian options and that is no different here. Our main course (2nd photo) was completely vegetarian and so were the samosas in the first photo.“

“Very good Sushi and Meat!
Super fresh, tasty and well made.
Been there while being on vacation on Madeira. The service was also very pleasing and friendly. Super informative about all the options that you have available on the menu. And took good care of us the whole time.
Would definitely recommend this sushi place.“

“We have had diner here 2 times and both times where perfect. Very good sushi and very nice service. I would recommend it to every body. We took a sushi boat the second time. This has several different kinds of sushi on it. If you like sushi this is the place to be.“

“The noodles were tasty, especially the meat. Furthermore, it was a bit boring and was only really good because of the chicken.
The person who helped us was very nice and friendly. Great service.
Price is also very good for what you get!“

“To give a positive example of dealing with allergies:
We were there and we really have a lot of allergies (sesame, nuts, milk, egg). The waiter tried very hard, wrote down everything and, apart from a small roll that accidentally had seaweed salad with sesame on it, everything corresponded exactly to our expectations (& requirements haha). However, the waiter provided a replacement straight away, very friendly and accommodating! The sushi was very tasty, although very salmon-heavy, as others have already written. (especially the “Traditional” menu plate). There was no tuna at all that day.
Unfortunately we didn't dare try the mixed Freestyle Surprise records for known reasons, but they looked fantastic! I can highly recommend the Dragon Fly Roll!
Dietary restrictions: Intolerances were largely taken into account and alternatives were sought.“

“idk about anyone else but this was the best sushi place I went to. Pay and then order as much as you want! Doesn’t matter if you don’t like it because you can order more and it won’t affect your bill! Reasonable speed of service too. I put four stars for the atmosphere because there was a wasp. Not their fault, I know, but still“

“Ate here twice in one week. Excellent food and service by very friendly waitresses. I have dropped a star after our 2nd visit due to what we believe was the owner being quite angry in his demeanour and overbearing and delivering our bill before we had finished eating!!“

“I quite like the food here. Of the sushi in Madeira, it is the best I have ever tried. My favorite option is to go for dinner, pay the entrance fee and eat free of the options on the menu.
The Asians who serve are very friendly, but there are a couple of small waiters, who are NOT Asian, who tend to be quite bitter. My husband thinks about going to Nagoya just because of those innkeepers and their lack of attention. The rest, all very good.
Of course, sometimes it is advisable to make a reservation because it usually fills up.
Parking: Possibility of parking within the shopping center, nearby hotels and on nearby streets.“

“I can only recommend!!
The service was great, all the employees were nice and accommodating.
I don't eat meat or fish and we were offered all you can eat in vegetarian form. This is basically an additional expense for the kitchen.
Food was prepared super quickly and tasted really good. The sushi platters were varied (including sweet sushi with fruit).
Price-performance ratio was also okay.“
