About Cantinho do Avillez - Cascais

Cantinho do Avillez offers an attentive service in a calm atmosphere. The cuisine combines Portuguese classics and mainstream essentials. While some dishes may be unevenly balanced, others like the torta de laranja are plain. The cocktails and Portuguese-style fried eggs are standouts.

The chef's trick is to take traditional Portuguese recipes and add a modern twist to them, resulting in delicious, interesting, and innovative fusions of tastes, while maintaining the warm feeling of comfort home style food. It maintains well-known dishes that are its signature, such as the fabulous fish from the garden and wonderful risotto. The place is pleasant and much less confusing than other spaces, with an impeccably friendly staff.

Went yesterday night and a bit disappointed. The food was not great - way too much salt, the fish (scallops notably) was not cooked properly, and the bread was cold. One waiter was also a bit rude

Avilez quality that we have become accustomed to. It maintains well-known dishes that are its signature (fabulous fish from the garden, wonderful risotto), the place is pleasant and much less confusing than other spaces. The staff is impeccably friendly.

This is the second restaurant by chef Avillez we visited, and he did not disappoint. Don’t miss the roasted Nisa cheese as it is listed towards the end of the menu. The place is Michelin mentioned, but is not pretentious at all.
