“We stayed nearby and have been three times in two days, and each visit is better than the last. Very rich breakfasts, even better service. We traveled with a person who cannot take gluten and they have had a lot of attention with his illness. They are charming. The best of Coimbra.
Dietary restrictions: They adapted breakfast to eliminate gluten“

“Been here two times and it is the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had. Soooo many and not only sorbet-like flavors. Some of them very unique. LOVED the toasted coconut, have not been able to find it anywhere else. Staff was also friendly and let you try lots of different flavours before deciding. The only ”bad” thing was that having a vegan cone cost more, 0,5€ I think.“

“Good pastry, definitely traditionally made, nothing of those vegetable oils/vegetable butter unlike many others around. Great place, ambience is fabulous as well, listening to those guys singing Fado while eating my bolo de arroz with a Capuccino was top notch!“

“This is cosy, friendly, great customer service, nice and friendly customers as well, top service, quiet and chilled ambient, etc, and all good there. I can't find whatsoever to complain. And also average to cheap prices,, like, an old whisky (portuguese served) + a bottle of coke, for 4.30€,, what else more...?Thank you, Cafe D. João!“

“Simply spectacular. You can see that the ingredients are natural and the texture is achieved to the maximum. We tried two sorbets, bergamot with sugar and orange, lime and rosemary and I can only say that the combinations are original, surprising and awaken the senses. Attentive and perfect service, offering help with any question. An ice cream parlor that does not leave you indifferent. It's listed in our favorites! Thank you for your good work!“
“Stopped in for a drink on way back from restaurant, friendly owner, quirky bar with great music. Serves drinks from a hatch and a small space inside, but of fun if you arenin a group, couple of seats outside for people watching. Four glasses of wine, two waters, 14.40.“

“Extremely well received. It is a welcoming space, especially for dog lovers. This cafe is also a collection point for returning Amazon orders and, although I didn't have things well prepared, I was attended to with great empathy. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Food 5*, all very good
Açai of the best.
Very reasonable prices.
The wait staff sometimes just waste time, we place the order and it always seems like they're a bit sick. Apart from the last service that Mrs. It was even nice. The downside is the lack of friendliness and speed in placing orders.
But otherwise I recommend it ❤️“
“Friendly service! Coffee with Santa Casa games! They make practical dishes, upon customer request.
Parking: Eiras, close to the retail park, where there are lots of convenience stores, including Continente
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible“

“Location already mentioned previously, however the visit was “forced” by Gastropiço’s suggestion.
A picturesque space reminiscent of the true concept of a tavern in Coimbra.
The steaks are fantastic, accompanied by a good finio, they are even better. Anyone who thinks that chicken toasties don't also have a place on the podium is wrong, they are 10/10 (the best I've ever eaten).
Better than all this? Eating in the company of Mr. Borges. These houses are not created solely for what is presented on the plate, but for the atmosphere and Borges is a champion at maintaining a good conversation.“
“Este café contém várias opções de padaria e pastelaria e tem esplanada, está bem localizado e o atendimento é simpático, mas achei algo caro o serviço para um café normal, fora do centro da cidade. 1,70€ um Ice Tea de lata, 1,10€ uma Mini Sagres e um 1,40€ um pão com chouriço, o que faz o valor de 4,20€ no total.“
“This café combines tradition with modernity.
It's a shame they allow card games to be played, as it has alienated customers due to the tavern atmosphere.
Boss and other staff super friendly and polite. It probably has the friendliest and most lively employee in Coimbra (Mr. Belmiro).“
“Very tasteful interior, but the bathroom door is stuck, the urinal is out of use and the toilet seat doesn't want to stay up. It's a shame, because there is money for a machine to receive payment so that staff don't need to do the exchange calculations.“

“There are 2 national sandwiches in Portugal the Francesinha and Bifana (pulled pork) Sandwich.
Francesinha Sandwich ...ham, steak filet, chorizo, smoked sausage, cheese, toasted bread, sweet red pepper\tomato garlic sauce ?
If you want the best Francesinha in Coimbra then come here. Our guide and BNB host both recommended this place, Café Atenas.
The best Francesinha we've had. Great value and really good expression of a Portuguese classic!“
“The hotel overlooks Botafogo beach, Sugar Loaf Mountain and, in the distance, Cristo Redentor. The staff is efficient and friendly, the rooms clean, the beds comfortable, the showers hot and powerful, the breakfast spread good …. The rooftop bar view is spectacular and the drinks and food good and not overpriced. There are bikes (iffy brakes!) which are great for cycling to Copocabana etc - there are cycle paths all the way. All in all, can thoroughly recommend, especially if you want to be near the big beaches but want to avoid the crowds“

“The atmosphere at Salatina is spectacular, everything is beautiful and well decorated, however I don't know if they don't have air conditioning but the place we stayed was very stuffy which was uncomfortable.
As for the service, very friendly employees, the only thing to note is a slight delay in delivering orders.
Finally, food, the smoked salmon bagel is divine and the brownie crumbled a little but in terms of flavor it was very good. Food presentation also very good!“
“(Translated by Google) The meat menu is of good quality, and worth the price you pay. Calm environment, away from certain restaurants that look like canteens with so much noise. “Time travel. You enter and you're back in the seventies if not earlier. The owner serves you correctly, not to much flare, not too little politeness.I ate some minced meat cakes (more a cake then a pie for sure), they also seemed from another era, fresh and good. Some red wine, then an expresso, and all of it was good. This man must be here for ages, and still doing the job, like an oldtime pro.I can't put my finger in it, the odd characters at the tables, the overall mood, I felt a melancholic warmth on my visit there. Anyway, best wishes to this oldtimer and his café.“
“I was at this commercial establishment and I ordered 2 beautiful cheese, ham and butter sandwiches plus a Ucal and a Compal juice. Well... What beautiful sandwiches... Well served, as they say in the slang. We were advised others, but this was what we wanted. The service is very good and very friendly and professional. The space, simple but well decorated. Coimbra Students must be loyal customers, as the decoration has paintings alluding to them. I highly recommend visiting this cafe...“

“Such a nice and historical place. You can find the café "a Brasileira" in the major cities of Portugal, being the one in Lisbon the most traditional because of the famous poet Fernando Pessoa. You also find one in Porto and Braga. This 100 years old Brasileira cafe offers amazing homemade cakes at very friendly prices. It also serves meals, being the award winner Codfish it's best.“

“We had the most incredible dinner! Our waitress was super nice and attentive and we followed her suggestions on the food (so glad we asked!). The ravioli wild mushroom sauce was rich and creamy, the pizza and garlic-bread-pizza had a good, light dough which felt freshly made. For dessert both tiramisu and cheesecake were the perfect finish. Cheesecake might be too sweet for some (I enjoyed it together with a Port-tonic cocktail), but the tiramisu has a great balance on it's own. Everything was brought to us in perfect timing and we were constantly checked on. I could honestly answer that everything was great! (With a face full of creamy mushroom ravioli and an expression of pure happiness). We were really happy with the suggestions of our waitress (upon request). Had she not suggested the tiramisu and cheesecake, we would have gone with chocolate cake at first (we tried that one out too but it's a little too dry, maybe with a ball of vanilla ice cream it would be better). This was so far our best dinner experience in Portugal.“

“Great place for coffee and pastry. Pastry served warm and fresh. Staff friendly and approachable. Great prices. My only slight issue was I ordered the double espresso and it was burnt. The creme was burnt dark brown, you could smell it was burnt and when I tasted it I burnt my tongue it was that hot. Not great coffee but the pastry made up for it and my partner had a milky coffee which he liked. I would definitely say give it a try!!“

“We wanted a light lunch before touring the Gulbenkian Museum. We were more than pleased with the choice of the cafe. Choices were quite extensive, prices very reasonable. Service was a bit slow due to the crowd, but well worth the wait. Had a chance to sit our side by the gardens on a perfect day to top it all off.“

“Cozy and very welcoming place, I've been there several times with my husband for lunch and dinner. Sometimes when it takes us a while to get back I miss it because the menu is delicious, our favorite order is the spicy box. Excellent service, clean place, well organized, charismatic and polite staff. We definitely recommend this place!
Kawal singh, Staff are the workers who tend to assist us most frequently, and I can say that they are wonderful.“
