“Located in the parish of Gaula, this is one of the most emblematic bars. A nice place to have a drink, eat one of the wonderful sandwiches or just play a game of pool. Also worth highlighting is the friendliness of the service. Recommended.
Parking: There are lots of places outside where you can park for free.
Kid-friendliness: A place with a relaxed and family atmosphere where children are also welcome.
Wheelchair accessibility: The entire space is accessible for those using wheelchairs.”
“(Translated by Google) Good food and the coffee is very good! When it's windy, it's not so pleasant to be outside, but on hot days it's great to be on the partially covered terrace.(Original)Comida boa e o café é muito bom!Quando está vento não é tão agradável de estar na rua mas nos dias de calor é excelente estar na esplanada parcialmente coberta”
“A genuinely incredible dining experience.
Chef Robert has done something very special here. The combination of ingenuity of recipes, local produce and flawless presentation lived up to the expectations and beyond.
The service was also exquisite.
A must see if you're a culinary fan and in Madeira!”
“We had a nice evening but was slightly under par for what is expected. It's hard not to compare with Il Gallo d'oro, which is close by and performs on a clearly higher level and casts a long shadow.”

“Poncha one of the best we tried in Madeira! All flavors are delicious, except English tomato (I do not recommend this one). It's a small place on the corner, crowded, so it's hard to get a table in the evening, but you can take a drink in a paper cup to go. Affordable prices, great taste!”

“Excellent food, friendly service (4 stars as they were short handed, so a bit slow) fun atmosphere- close to where we were staying, but off the beaten path….so had to look for it, which was fun. Appeared to be popular with both locals & tourists. mojitos were soo good. We both had the pulled pork - will try the chicken next time! Highly recommend”

“We visited Fala Fala for a lunch and it was the perfect place for a sit down and refresh. The menu isn’t extensive and pretty much is falafel with salad or in a wrap. I got the falafel salad which was tasty and worked well together. I do wish that the salad had some carb element as it was just salad falafel and houmous. My partner got the falafel wrap which came with chips. The wrap was much better than the salad, had lots of different flavour and texture elements. The chips were crispy and well seasoned. The falafel in general was good but not the best I’ve ever tried - it did the job though and we enjoyed the meal!”

“It is a place to drink craft beers, which has little more than three dishes (quesadillas, tacos and burritos) if you want to have dinner, but they are amazing and are more than enough (without accompaniments that in the end you always end up leaving, such as potatoes or salad).
Very quiet atmosphere at 8pm, although I suppose it goes on for days. It is a sports bar type place, so it is not for families with children, we did go with two teenagers.
I will repeat for sure before I leave.
Wheelchair accessibility: It communicates with two streets, the lower one suitable for wheelchair access, the dining room is on that level.”

“Wir waren in der Woche 2 mal dort. Es war unglaublich lecker. Es gibt viele vegetarische/vegane Gerichte aber auch Gerichte mit Fleisch. Wir hatten vorweg papadams, die mit mehreren Dips und etwas Gemüse kommen und richtig leckere Kartoffeltaler. Die sind wirklich zu empfehlen.”

“What a wonderful spot in Funchal! Went back several times to enjoy the tastiest cocktails in a cozy narrow street full of restaurants. The choice is huge and the cocktails are delicious! Live music in the evenings. Service is great!”

“We took a break here while exploring Madeira. The Bar / Restaurant popped up at my Google maps and it was worth stopping by! Beautifully located in nature, modern Ambiente and good food & drinks! I had the vegetarian burger you see on the picture and it was delicious! From coffee to cocktails, from snacks to a full on menu - everyone will be pleased!”

“We are so happy to have discovered this location near us (outside the city center). Simply fantastic. Super tasty, fresh food (e.g. spaghetti Bolognese and penne). Great prices and nice location. I think the positive reviews speak for themselves. We'll definitely come by again.”

“Very good restaurant with typical Madeiran food hidden in the center of Porto da Cruz, the fish are very fresh, the staff's attention is super good, there is a parking lot nearby where you can leave your car”

“We were advised at A Traineira (Caniço de Baixo) and we are completely satisfied.
The bolo do caco at the beginning fresh from the wood-fired oven together with our traditional Poncha was divine. Then the picanha accompanied by 2 risottos (onion, beans and chorizo) was the highlight. We ordered it rare to our liking and it arrived that way. Then, at the end, the mousse clearly made in-house with hazelnuts on top was perfect, not to mention the always attentive service. I highly recommend it!”

“You have to visit Mundo vegan when you’re in Funchal! I found that the opening times were a little strange, e.g. they closed at 6pm on a Saturday and weren’t open on some days of the week. The food and the whole experience was worth it though! We thought that the menu was a bit disappointing to be honest. I got the bean burger and my partner got the burger with a fake meat patty. Like every bean burger, my was falling apart as I ate it but the flavours were great and the accompaniments worked well. My partners burger was also very good but the flavours were pretty much the same as mine. The chips though oh my!! Probably the best chips I’ve had in my life. Crispy but soft on the inside!! We got ice cream for dessert. I got the chocolate in a waffle cup and my partner got pistachio. Both were really good. The vibe was a little off as we went at 5pm. No one else was there and it felt like the staff were just watching us. Overall though, well worth a visit! Updated from previous review on 2025-11-02”

“Excellent food, particularly recommend the chana masala. Several mains are clearly indicated as vegan, and there are a few more unlabelled (eg some starters, etc). Staff made sure to not bring yogurt sauce after we inquired about vegan food, I’m unsure if they automatically do this when ordering vegan dishes.”

“Half of the options on the vegetarian a la carte menu can be made vegan. None of the desserts can be made vegan however they kindly whipped us up a chocolate mousse with red fruits, it was delicious. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food is on the pricey side and has an upmarket feel. Beautiful view out to sea.”

“Small cozy place that serves italian food. It doesn't have any clearly vegan main dishes on the menu, but we asked if the vegetarian pizza could be made vegan by taking out the cheese. The pizza was served with a balsamic vinegar on top instead of the cheese, and it was amazing.”
