“A nice Snack Bar with really tasty food. We had a mixed plate and everything was amazing. The service was good and friendly. The Bar is just around the corner of the castle. Further it was clean and the owner spoke english. It is a small local Snack Bar which could be your starting point in Loule.
We will come back.
Kid-friendliness: Good place for children

“A wonderful gem in Vilamoura! From the time we arrived until we left, the service was fantastic. The waiters were attentive, professionally skilled and made good recommendations for food and drink. We started with drinks that tasted heavenly.
The concept is sharing and you have a large and exciting selection of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. We ate four courses and were full.
The place is cozy decorated and the food arrived quickly. The waiters always poured wine and water, and were very pleasant and service minded.
Definitely recommend Salmora to others visiting Vilamoura!
Vegetarian options: Several dishes with only vegetables, as well as lots of fish and shellfish.“

“The very typical front of this restaurant made us want it.
We were happy to stop there because it was a real delight.
The restaurant is clean! Homemade cooking!! The dishes are typically Portuguese and are really delicious and hearty.
The waiter is very pleasant and he speaks French and English without problem.
I sincerely recommend it if you want to live the Portuguese experience to the end.“

“Very good cataplana, we ordered the monkfish and seafood one, there were 2 of us, we had plenty left over and it was spectacular, we couldn't resist trying the fig pudding either. Highly recommended for quality, price and the treatment of the waiter and the cook who came to ask. It is not the typical tourist place, a local restaurant with traditional Portuguese food where what mattered was the food, not the decoration.“

“While walking through Faro we found this place, off the street with the most touristy restaurants. A very quiet and pleasant place with jazz music in the background. The food is very delicious and at a very good price. Without a doubt highly recommended if you visit Faro. Attached are photos of the tasty cod dish and a dish called picapau.“

“A fabulous, locally owner restaurant. We normally order the turbot, which is out of this world, but last time I ordered the pepper steak and my wife the seafood rice, both of which were sublime. Service and ambiance are always exceptional. It’s our go-to restaurant.“

“One of the best value for money meals I've ever had. Pick your fish they grill it and the sides of bread, salad and potatoes are included.
Sea Bream was cooked to perfection. Salad and potatoes were nice, the fries were homemade style. Great atmosphere and service.
We had 7 different whole fish and 5 soft drinks and it was €29. Ridiculous.“

“My fave place this holiday (so far) Best meal that Ppl need to go there and up the ratings! Highly recommend for fresh seafood but they do have other foodstuff. Great views and staff, some are so experienced, and even the customer kids are so well mannered. Open til 12 midnight which is the latest we have come across.

Aroma di Mare xXx closest, so went 3 times at 11.15pm for takeaway, lunchtime and snack b4 dinner!

Flavours - Oldtown sea views (inbetween Oceano and Louisano)
RMs Restaurante Martins (more outside towards villamoura/balaia)
Tasca Portuguesa at the Marina xXx
6degrees Paragrafo for cocktails at end of marina
Least good was Tsatsumi
Natsu in Loulé, ramen was best, rest wasn't great or fresh ...)“

“Wanted a small lunch, but ended up with a big meal because the food tasted so good.
We were greeted by a were friendly and proffesional waitress who showed us to our table.
A lot of the dishes seemed good so we decided to order some tapas instead of just one main course each. This was a good choice since every dish, apart from the sweet potatoes, were full of flavour.
The pièce de résistance was the lemon cake for dessert. Simple yet sooo delicious. It didnt hurt that we got an extra large piece.
Very pleased with this restaurant.“

“Seafood restaurant where you can eat luxury, if you are used to eating in Portugal, its strength in general is not the adequacy of the premises and establishments, but when cooking fish and shellfish they are the best, and in this establishment the food is very good, I go two or three times every year, I love it, the service is slow, but that's the way of the Portuguese, you have to go to enjoy and not look for faults or compare, that's when you enjoy the food and the experience.“

“Good fish restaurant, it has tables inside and a covered terrace, good equipment, he showed us the fish we were going to have for dinner. We ordered grilled squid, with a side of potatoes and vegetables. A grilled parguete with the same garnish as the squid, just right. If the grilled meals are accompanied with a light sauce, I think they would gain a lot, it is a very personal opinion, but it has happened to me in restaurants in Portugal .To top off a very delicious cake. recommendable“

“If you’ve ever wanted to get BBQ’d fish and meat in an unfinished field with a few outbuildings and a repurposed food truck, all across the street from a mobile home park, look no further than Restaurante Roulotte do Sr. Antonio!!
The fish comes in big portions, is very fresh and well seasoned and expertly cooked. The pork ribs were delicious and very well seasoned. The kids hot dog came (unexpectedly) with crushed up bits of potato chips (crisps) on top and tasty fries (chips) on the side—all for 5 euros. Put simply, the owner/grill master knows his way around a BBQ.
Depending on your tastes, however, he is a truly abysmal DJ. For the seeming eternity we were there (more on that later), we were largely subjected to YouTube videos of what appeared to be Russia’s knock-off version of the Eurovision Song Contest. It was so bad (borderline torture, honestly, that wouldn’t have been out of place at Guantanamo Bay) that we couldn’t stop laughing. I’m giving the whole atmosphere 5 stars because of how unique it was; like dining in a very tasty episode of the Twilight Zone. But if you don’t want a bit of adventure and exposure to some of the worst songs the internet can possibly serve up, this is NOT the place for you.
That is especially true because you won’t be in and out quickly. The service is as slow as other reviewers suggest (read “glacial”), largely because the staff appears to be just the husband and wife team here; he behind the grill when not drinking quite a bit and cranking up the devil’s music, she in the food truck doing something unclear when not otherwise cleaning glassware and dancing overly attentively and with surprising gusto to the aforementioned video entertainment.
Do I regret going? Absolutely not. Would I ever go back? Not in a million years, except for takeout.“

“Small bar near the historic center of the city but away from the hustle and bustle. The treatment of us by the staff was incredible. I highly recommend the francesinha, it is important to order homemade potatoes to accompany and dip in its sauce because it is truly incredible, the best I have ever tasted, and the seafood rice, for one person the portion is quite large. With these two dishes without any starter we ended up quite full, without a doubt a place to repeat and recommend.“

“We are currently on holiday staying galf way between Villamoura and Albufeira, and decided to taxi over to the marina for tea. Out of the wide variety of restaurants available we took a punt on this one and it certainly delivered. Just a bread starter, but it came with a lovely selection of olives, tuna, pickled carrots...really tasty. I had chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce, which was vert tasty and a very generous portion. My husband had a mixed kebab which was a massive portion...and so tasty. Happily recommend this restaurant to all.“

“I have been in Portugal for 20 days in various places but this is the best restaurant I have frequented.
Simple in its appearance but delicious in the preparation of the menu which was abundant and superlative.
Good wine and appetizers offered at the entrance are truly excellent and not just for presentation.
The bill was very honest and the staff very friendly even though I don't know the Portuguese language at all. Thank you with all my heart!“
“Visited tonight and can only describe it as a fabulous experience. The food and wine were amazing: We had fried prawns in garlic and peri-peri sauce followed by Tagliolini seafood pasta, and my wife had Salted Cod Stew both of which were really tasty, we than shared creme brulee which had a bit of a twist. Some of the reviews say it's a little expensive but worth it for the quality. Staff were very friendly, attentive and only too happy to help with recommendations. Overall would highly recommend.“

“Good restaurant with tables inside and on the terrace, good team, friendly and attentive if you need anything, the owner is very friendly. Wide variety of fish and specialized in rice and cataplanas, we order the seafood rice and they bring you a casserole for 3 or 4 servings, you have to go hungry, good rice and a large amount of varied seafood, prawns, crayfish, beef, crab, mussels, clams. Very rich.
Dessert Don Rodrigo, good. Very good value for money, recommended“

“What a wonderful meal we had! We hadn’t been to O Tanque for some time but we’ll certainly be back very soon. The couvert is amazing. They come round with a big tray and you can choose what to have. The baby squid starter is divine. Best in the Algarve in my opinion. We shared a large robalo for main. Cooked beautifully with amazing fresh veg and tiny new potatoes that were delicious. We hadn’t got room for pudding but at the end of our meal. Little sweet treats were presented along with white and ruby port that was left on the table (John had a second glass it was so nice) Reasonable price. Lovely staff. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you“
“If you want the best seafood stew you will ever try, you have to try Snack Bar Davi - don't let the name put you off thinking it's a snack bar - very much not, it's a fabulous street restaurant with food is to die for and how Davi does it for the prices he charges is unbelievable. Let take about the Caldeirada (Portuguese monster fish stew) - lordy me 2 langoustines, 6 king prawns, a drove of claims and 5 huge chucks of monkfish all slowly cooked in a shrimp broth boiled with potatoes. How does he do it for €30 for a couple is beyond me! Wine - forget buying an expensive bottle, his house wine @ €8 a litre is as good as any wine I've tasted and matches the main course perfectly. Caution - You have to book this place, pop past and put your name down, you will not be disappointed (closed Tuesday)“

“I love the space, the drinks are excellent!!
The only point to point out was about my last visit.
We arrived, where all or almost all the tables were reserved and we asked where we could sit!
They put us at a table, with no indication that it would be "just for food"... well, but in the end it was decided, it was just boring!
But I'll be back at the end of the summer.“

“Very nice home,
no difficulty communicating in French,
the menu is clear and offers simple, local choices, with fresh and well-prepared products.
The boss gives us his opinion accompanied by wine depending on the dish chosen.
And finally, special mention to the team who took great care from start to finish (time management between dishes, services, and even a few songs played and sung on the guitar by the manager and his colleagues.)
THANKS.“
