“Everything was magnificent, the taste of the food was exceptional, the two girls who served us were attentive to everything.
We would definitely repeat.
Just 7 minutes from the river, it's worth the climb!
Thank you for serving us so well!“

“Very nice place! The person who attend us was nice, even in the last 45 min before closing. Thank you! He served us very well, recommended us... Food was delicious and local style, vegetable soup was surprisingly delicious, I also tried an amazing flan / pudding, hand and home made. I would like to repeat to try the main dishes, and we only tried what remains as kind of Portuguese "tapas". Totally recommended.“

“Coffee is great, but the main guy running the cash register was the nicest man. When trying to learn and speak Portugese, I run into many words I still don't know. This happened when ordering coffee. Instead of dismissing my confusion and just speaking to me in english, he clarified and helped me learn a few more words and phrases while speaking to me in portugese. That's service, and that shows care. Made me feel comfortable.“

“Wow, we had a great breakfast there today. The restaurant is located on a not-so-busy street and that's what's really nice. The interior is harmonious, there was a little jazz playing in the background and the atmosphere was great for our breakfast. The service was very nice and the breakfast was rich and very tasty.
There's no outside area, but that's not a bad thing. I can recommend the restaurant without reservation!“

A 10 for the site, highly recommended and good price.“

“Perfect little Portuguese café for breakfast or a snack in between. The toasts with cheese & tomato or cheese & ham are particularly recommended. Pastel de Nata and the Portuguese chocolate croissant were also outstanding. Extremely friendly owner who provides excellent service!“

“Located in one of the city's most trendy neighborhoods - Bonfim - Dona Mira reflects the city's climate of diversity and cultural effervescence. This can be seen as soon as you enter the bar, with the exhibition of photographs of the bar's owners interacting with some of the most important musicians in Brazil. The tribute makes perfect sense since both Carlos and Valéria are renowned producers and singers, respectively.
Here you can find both the comfort to read while drinking a coffee on a rainy afternoon, and the space to share a good wine and some snacks while chatting with friends. At the back of the café there is a terrace where you can make the most of the longest and softest days of the year and, in addition, there is a library. If you didn't bring your book with you to enjoy the moment, no problem, Dona Mira has a library of books to borrow and, even better, there is a small bookstore full of Brazilian editions that are not always easy to find here in Portugal.“

“We drank a perfectly extracted double and a single espresso, clear notes without excess acidity or bitterness, I observed the barista's workflow, super fluid with all the necessary steps to obtain consistently good coffee, we were also very well served by another barista who was very Friendly and even brought water to the table when we finished our coffees, if I lived nearby it would be a cafe to go to every day.“

“Visited for brunch following many recommendations, which were all spot-on. Even though there was a queue when we arrived, we got a table fairly quickly and service was pretty fast. We loved the food (smoked salmon bowl, and waffles with tempura chicken), and the iced teas were also very nice, especially the passion fruit matcha.“

“I visited today with my favorite person for some coffee after lunch. I love Galão in Portugal; drinking it is one of my favorite things. I had noticed this café while walking past the bridge before, so we decided to give it a try today. The prices for our drinks were not touristy at all—considering the location and view, they were very reasonable. The owner (or perhaps the manager) seemed very friendly.“

“We stumbled onto this place while heading to another place for breakfast. Thank goodness we did.
From the moment we walked in until we left, we were surrounded with amazing energy, from everyone that worked there.
The food was amazing, and seemed a little more like home than we’d had since we visited Portugal. Don’t get me wrong, I love to emerge myself in the culture, but a lot of the restaurants in this area seem to serve the same thing as the other restaurants. So when we found this place, that seems to march to a beat of their own drum, we were elated. If you enjoy American type food with a Portugal twist and even some vegetable's, this is the place for you. From the coffee, to the breakfast plates to the desserts, this place was just delicious!!!!
The atmosphere was great as well, so cute and so fun. We didn’t eat outside on the back patio, but next time we will for sure. That area was adorable.
I can’t wait to return to Porto, so we can go back, over and over again. We already decided to stay in this area, so that we can have this place close by.“

“We look for places that are not typical tourist traps, not only because of the price, but also because of the local atmosphere. That turned out to be the case. They are kind, the food is delicious, the coffee is good. The Francesinha was enough until the evening, so filling!“

“This is the place to be if you want to eat real Portuguese food. The fishermen who catch the fish in the morning, fry the fish outside on the BBQ and put it on your plate 5 minutes later. “I was lucky enough to have breakfast two days only because unfortunately I had breakfast included at the hotel on the last night?
The attention of all the girls is impeccable, the treatment is very friendly.
The food is amazing. We were hesitant about the pumpkin jam and they brought us a small bowl to try. I left my jacket and they took care of it and returned it the next day.
The decoration, music and presentation of the food is great.
I recommend it on your visit to Porto. When I return I will not have breakfast at the hotel ?“

“The place where the locals eat and drink is therefore familiar, good and cheap, with a beautiful view of the river and the other side. The owner refused to even accept a tip. We ordered three types of food, all of them were huge and delicious.“

“We had already passed by the bar a few times and one night we decided to eat there, the bar is very original, the service was very honest and sincere.
When the bar owner told me: “You won’t regret it, the food here is very good.” We had no doubts, the food would be good.
The bread was excellent, the toast was very well made and the omelet was excellent.
Thank you very much!“

“4.5/5*
This was a dense and large francesinha, utilising a lot of cheese and with a medium-rare sirloin steak inside. The chorizo inside was Smokey, salty and perfectly spiced. There was also a beautifully creamy, fatty, melting mortadella included in this francesinha. The sauce had the perfect balance of sweetness from the port, spice, creaminess, a savoury tomatoey flavour and a slight bitterness from the beer. The egg on top was ideally runny, the bread was lightly crispy, and the cheese was thick, creamy and deliciously high in cholesterol. The chips on the side were outstanding in combination with the sauce, crispy, salty and ready to be drenched.
The Pasteis de bacalhau were incredibly creamy, made from potato, dried cod fish (bacalhau: a Portuguese delicacy), onion, garlic, olive oil and parsley. The interior was soft like a mashed potato consistency and the exterior has a lightly crusted, hash brown like layer. These croquettes are easy to come by all over Portugal, with both the smallest of restaurants serving them and also the most sophisticated ones. We appreciated the slight nutmeg flavour in this batter.“

“AT CAFÉ HJP THE FOOD IS HOMEMADE AND IS VERY TASTY FROM THE MEAT DISHES, FISH, AND SNACKS. FRANCESIES ETC... MADE BY TWO COOKS, THE SERVICE IS GENERALLY CARRIED OUT ATTENTIVELY, WITH A LEVEL OF SPEED AND EFFICIENCY CARRIED OUT BY ITS EMPLOYEES. IT IS A CAFÉ WHERE A GREAT FRIENDSHIP IS CREATED BETWEEN THE OWNERS AND CUSTOMERS. I RECOMMEND CAFÉ HJP FOR BREAKFASTS, LUNCHES, SNACKS, FISHING OR DINNER WITH GROUPS OF FRIENDS OR WITH FAMILY.“

“Everything is super fast, excellent service, on time, even though it gets busy, they have very good service, they served us in Spanish without a problem, they make the food on the spot too, in fact you can see how they prepare it, at least in the case of the francesinha. Which by the way is quite delicious, the menu is in Portuguese and English. They have TVs, in one they were showing the Braga soccer game and in the other the Olympics“

“I became a little disappointed with the way the maître treated us. We had a booking for dinner, at 8.30 pm, on September 30. The hostess escorted us to a 4 seats table. As soon as the Maître noticed that he said that it could not be possible because we were only a couple. So, we should sit some other place or the tables shoots be separated. He was really rude. We became in silence but when he ordered to join the table that was separated from ours to the other one aside I list my patience and told him he had bad manners and we were mistreated since we came in. He tried to apologize but I did not accepted. So he told that perhaps many more restaurantes probably were still opened and probably they could treat us much better than them. I don’t know how that man still manager the restaurant.“

“We had the pleasure of having breakfast three days in a row at Urca Café Pastelaria and can't say enough about this hidden gem.The staff, led by a very kind gentleman who also speaks a little Italian, welcomed us with a warm smile. We were immediately struck by the convenience of the prices; with only 6 euros, we were able to enjoy a delicious breakfast for two people. The value for money is truly exceptional. The coffee, approaching almost the perfection of the Italian one, added a special note to our mornings. In addition to the economic side, the friendliness and friendliness of the staff made the experience even more pleasant. “Small family-run restaurant and bar. Home cooking with very tasty typical Portuguese dishes. It's just a shame that the sweet grandmother who waits at the tables tends to add unwanted side dishes to the orders (which you then find on the bill), but then again this is also part of the tradition of Portuguese restaurateurs
Vegetarian options: Vegetable sopa (soup).“

“An absolutely amazing dinner at one of the hidden jewels of the traditional food from the “Trás-os-Montes” province! Greeted with a smile by the super professional and friendly staff, I was taken to the table and then got a tour to the outstanding wine cellar. I was amazed by the selection of wines from all over the world! After seating everyone, the food show started! From starters - the cold cuts and cheeses, the veal patty, the grilled chouriço, the wild boar stew and the “rojões” with chestnut were divine!! Then we move to the main dishes… and was amazing food they were!! From the Lamb chops, the “migas”, the beef and the unique cod with “alheira” we’re to die for! Everything was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and super tasty!! To finish we had a mix of desserts, including the famous turnips pudding. Yes, you read it correctly! Turnips pudding!! Amazing!!! It’s HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but be prepared to be eating for some hours as you will not want to leave!!“
