Novo Imperador (Confeitaria Novo Imperador) offers delicious, fresh food with excellent value for money. Great for quick meals, coffee, and pastries, especially their panados around 10am. The spacious hall has lots of tables, though privacy can be an issue. The staff speaks English, and the efficient service ensures everything is done quickly. The restaurant has a very beautiful internal terrace, though it is a smoking area. The sweets are a spectacle in themselves. Customers have enjoyed the Caldo Verde, hake fillets with Russian salad, and the menu of the day on Sundays, which includes a delicious chicken soup and bacalhau in Braga fashion. The food is made fresh and abundant, and the prices and service are good.
