After several evenings in the tourist center of the city, we went in the other direction today and were rewarded. We happened to pass this restaurant on a rather run-down street. It seemed a bit like a foreign body, as the furnishings looked very attractive and high quality. It was the best and cheapest meal during our entire stay in Porto! Definitely try it!!!

The Pros: The Bife was incredible! Food is tasty, prices are reasonable and portions are great.
The Cons: As you sit in there’s a bread basket which you may assume is complimentary. Don’t make that mistake! If you take anything from it they will add it to the bill at the end, the same as the butter and cheese they offered for it. This would’ve been fine if the bread had been fresh, but it tasted stale, and the butter was margarine from a mini spread which wasn’t even enough for all the bread. I felt like this was a way to trap tourists who are unaware that the bread isn’t complimentary. Being up front with the customers costs nothing and provides a better experience.
Other than that, the food was great, but I don’t appreciate restaurants sneaking things on my bill.
