“Very good restaurant at the top of the village of Salir with the illuminated church as a backdrop in the evening.
Delicious tapas, good portions for a very reasonable price! We went there 2 evenings in a row and were never disappointed. A caring waitress speaking many languages and always smiling!
You can go there with your eyes closed. All is well !! (Olives, pork cheeks, chorizo with potatoes, fried squid...). For less than 70 euros you can have: aperitif, bottle of wine, meal and dessert! Special mention for the “carrob” dessert that we didn’t know about.“
“I think this is the first time I've given 5 stars. Pleasantly surprised on the positive side, by very well-prepared homemade food, with more than generous portions, very friendly service, and a bill at a more than fair price. An experience not to be missed. I was a customer and will definitely be back.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurante Malveiro in Almancil, and it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the prawns from Mozambique. These prawns were incredibly fresh and flavorful, cooked to absolute perfection.
The prawn curry, which came highly recommended, was nothing short of spectacular. The rich and aromatic sauce, combined with the succulent prawns, created a symphony of flavors that stood out.
The warm and inviting atmosphere of this family-owned restaurant, along with the exceptional hospitality provided by Leonel, made the experience even more special. From start to finish, every moment at Restaurante Malveiro showed their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. If you're in the Algarve, this gem is a must-visit!“

“Go here regularly for lunch. At first it is very easy to miss the restaurant. The outside area is completely overgrown and you have to look closely from the street to even notice it. Sitting outside is also very idyllic. The interior is more of a long hose. But now to the food: simply phenomenal. I usually always eat the very inexpensive (emphasis on value) menu, which changes weekly, consists of two courses and where you can always choose from two alternatives for a starter and a main course. The desserts have to be ordered and paid for separately, but each one is a poem. The restaurant is run by a married couple. He, an Italian, cooks and she, a Belgian, runs the service. Both perfect! The wine list is manageable, but also lists excellent and more expensive wines. You can't really go wrong here - probably not even in the evening if you eat a la carte, but I haven't tried that yet.“

“It is a very nice place with good service and healthy, appetizing food. Juices and desserts you can't miss. The attention of Yna, our waitress who spoke to us in Spanish and advised us very well. Don't miss this place if you like healthy and/or vegetarian food ???✨
Vegetarian options: Everything is delicious and healthy, the natural juices are very delicious. Great service and attention. You can't miss the desserts. Highly recommended!!“

“Traditional food restaurant, located in the center of town, next to the market, and that responds to the canons of a "real" Portuguese restaurant, not a place prepared to extract money from tourists. The place is large and the waiters do their best to serve you in a place that is packed with people. The bathroom is very clean and has paper and soap. I think it's a good option in Loulé. I remove a star, because there is a discrepancy between the prices that appear on the menu and those that appear on the bill, so it's time to review it.
Vegetarian options: There are vegan options such as vegetable soup and tortillas.
Kid-friendliness: There were children in the premises“

“Food, Service & Ambience just perfect. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. We dine at this restaurant on a fairly frequent basis and will continue to do so because of the excellent experience we have each time we visit. It does not matter if it is just the two of us or a party of friends, the staff at AQuinta always give us a warm welcome!“
“Husband and wife run the place, very friendly. Our apartment was right next door and we stopped there often. They offer light snacks like sandwiches, but also have fish & meat of the day updated daily. We enjoyed various meals like fresh tuna, chicken, soups, etc. Very casual atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, stay as long as you like. Closed on Sundays.“
“The food is out of this world. A symphony for the tongue. The home smoked salmon (sat near the smoker!) would grace the table of any restaurant in London. Sat outside in the sun with a beautiful bottle of local white wine…..doesn’t really get any better. Highly recommended.“

“The best 'Francesinha' in all Sotovento. We stopped by change in Loulé and we got quickly pleased to find Colheita Fresca, delighted with the owners hospitality. We would have loved to try more dishes but the francesinha was full filling.Great flavour, homemade stock and homemade spicy sauce. We would love to come back but I believe the owner is retiring soon, a pity, but well deserved rest.A shame you didn't have 'Licor de Merda' from Cantanhede in your bar ?“

“We discovered this excellent space through the place where we spent the night in Loulé and it couldn't have gone better. We were 4 adults and 3 children and we went to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We ate the cheese garlic bread with the detail of adding the oregano, followed by lasagna, shrimp risotto with asparagus and spaghetti bolognese, all washed down with lambrisco sangria. The artisanal ice creams are divine and the chocolate mousse was wonderful. Everything cost €100 and the service provided by all the staff was something that left us speechless. Definitely repeating.“
“We are fans of tapas and this space really surprised us on the positive side. The food was great, good service even with the house full. And of course live music added a special touch. We love the friendliness of Miguel and Dario. I cannot fail to mention something unusual that gave points in favor, in the bathroom there were female assistants, for those boring days that come without warning. Fantastic, as a woman I can only thank you for your sensitivity. Congratulations and may you prosper in this new adventure. Much success!“
“Went there for lunch yesterday. My wife had chicken with potatoes, I had pork with mussels and salad. Both dishes very tasty and big portions. The owner spoke good English,he was very friendly. This is the place where the locals eat, always a good sign. We both had dessert, I had rice pudding, my wife fruit. The next time I am in Loulé I will go to Apolo restaurant again.“

“We just spent two weeks in Portugal and Spain having amazing meals, and THIS restaurant was the absolute best meal we had overall. What a treasure! The fresh, interesting and clean delicious dishes here are very memorable. Everyone in our group of six loved their meals so much, we passed them all around so each of us could try each one. It was difficult to settle on a favorite. The owner is wonderful and helpful. The chef is so talented and makes each dish fresh to order. If you are traveling from abroad, this is the local, authentic experience you do not want to miss. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!“

“Tapas and snacks at their best. I recommend the corvina ceviche and the puffed cheeks. The feathers are very good too. The wine list is top notch. We only had the tiramisu for dessert but we would have had a few more servings. Now, the service is very disorganized and with little attention to the customer. Attention, which in a place that takes your eyes off your face, is at least due. Nice space with live music, beautiful bathroom. The only sin is the absurd prices.“

“Lovely restaurant. I have a medical condition which makes choosing suitable dishes very challenging. Sam & Nick went out of their way to accommodate my restrictions without me feeling like a nuisance. My fish was delicious. There was only one desert suitable for me (a very yummy lime pud) but I am quite confident that if that hadn’t been on the menu they would have russled up something to suit me. That’s customer service!“

“It's a good restaurant where we ate well.
Quite a few people, the dishes were perfectly fine and he speaks French, it's very good, nothing to complain about.
Parking: It's a very large car park, no problem for the place originally, it's also a nightclub.
Kid-friendliness: Yes, the establishment is suitable for children, there are even outdoor games.
Wheelchair accessibility: Establishment adapted to wheelchairs without problem.“

“I have been in Portugal for 20 days in various places but this is the best restaurant I have frequented.
Simple in its appearance but delicious in the preparation of the menu which was abundant and superlative.
Good wine and appetizers offered at the entrance are truly excellent and not just for presentation.
The bill was very honest and the staff very friendly even though I don't know the Portuguese language at all. Thank you with all my heart!“

“A very convenient place right outside Vila Nova de Foz Coa. On our way from Bragança to Serra de Estrela, it allowed us to visit the Museum and have a very good lunch within a limited schedule. We had stuffed mushrooms, rice and mushrooms, various vegetables in puff pastry, dry sausage and chorizo. And an excellent chocolate mousse. We had a reservation for 4 people in a nice part of the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were placed in the cafeteria. After a friendly complaint, they moved us to a much nicer place in the restaurant. The visit of the museum is a must.“
“Have a nice meal here, we both had the sea bream, which was served with potatoes and the first time in our holiday - vegetables! Most places only seem to serve potatoes and you buy a side salad. We had the bread, olives and sardine pate to start, and a half litre of house red. Nice coffee. Enjoyable meal, felt pretty full, good service.“

“Went to Restaurant Calypso in Loulé this evening. Shared 2 carafes of house red wine (very drinkable) and a large bottled water along with couvert. I had black pork which was perfectly seasoned and for the life of me tasted like sirloin steak. My wife had piri piri chicken which is a Portuguese barbecue along with a great tomato and lettuce side salad. Both dishes came with wonderful fries and rice. We capped the meal off with a nutty, coffee infused cake dessert and a double espresso. Service was wonderful and the owner checked several times to ensure we were happy with the meal. The cost was very reasonable (under 20€ per person). Incrível!“

“We went to this restaurant after searching a lot because it was Monday and the ones we wanted in the area were either closed or they were too expensive. Since it is not close to the beach, the prices are more than affordable. We ordered grilled picaña and it came with a bunch of potatoes that were also very delicious. It's a shame that when we arrived they no longer had sardines... For dessert we tried the flan, which was homemade. Priced, as I say, quite cheap; for about €15-16/person including drinks and bread service.“

“We are passing through the region and were looking for an authentic restaurant far from the hustle and bustle of the seaside and we found it here! The food is delicious and homemade, the welcome is very friendly and here you will be surrounded by authentic people. In short, if like us you want to eat well, go for it!“
“We go here for lunch almost once a week. The food is traditional Portuguese and very tasty. I always end up ordering the Porco de amêijoas (pork with clams) it’s delicious. And you have to try the desserts. My favourite is Arroz doce but they are all worth a try and homemade. Anna and her son, Carlos, speaks English so no language barrier.
Vegetarian options: Only salad available

“This place was recommended by a local person, who claimed "it's not a tourist trap". Well, the fish (fried sardines) were very good. As I don't eat potatoes, I was offered steamed vegetables. And I ordered bread, olives and a salad too. They were all very good.
But I did not expect to be charged 4 euros for the steamed vegetables. Let's assume it was a mis-understanding...“

“We arrived early, around 8pm and there was no one sitting... It was full in no time!
The food is good, it was one of the best meats I've ever eaten. There were 6 of us and we ordered 4 dishes to share. The picanha and the chunks of vileta were our favorites! We didn't think anything special about the medallions with cheese, it's meat with cheese ??♀️ We had done well without them, I confess.
The Cod, for our taste, needed a little salt. The onion was great! It made the dish very appetizing, it was a happy choice.
The portions are quite generous so, if you wish, you can adopt the sharing concept.
The desserts, the medronho pudding, looked great and those who tried it said it was wonderful. Dom Rodrigo's puff pastry is not surprising, a little dry even, due to the puff pastry...
It is a restaurant to recommend and visit again, without a shadow of a doubt!“

“We have eaten very very well. They have treated us phenomenally although we arrived a little late for Portuguese schedules. The cod was delicious and the waiters were very professional and friendly. We were struck by how neat the cooks were and how clean the kitchen was. A little more fresh in the dining room and a complete 10!“

“Beautiful restaurant a little off the beaten path in a wonderful garden. A typical family business, everyone helps out. Excellent food at fair prices. Sitting outside in the garden under the open sky, good food, good company... what more could you want.“
“I will come back without a doubt. 5 star fish. More importantly, I had the carvery, it was 5 stars. For the first time, the carvery was prepared on the spot without leaving meat on the skewer. Which gave me confidence with the quality of the meat.“

“While passing through this beautiful region with family, we were able to eat in this establishment. The owners are very welcoming and speak French very well.
The dishes are simple and very good!

“A bit tricky to find so stick it on your favourites on your satnav. Good friendly service and my attempts at Portuguese were not laughed at. Friendly staff , good local food , excellent garlic prawns sold by weight (300 gm is ok for a starter for 2 or a main) and look for specials. The house wine is very good and quite inexpensive. It is what we call a twice-a-week place. In summer you may need to book to get an outside table“

“Unfortunately, this is the first time I've come to comment, and it's a worse experience. Every other time, I loved the restaurant and the food, without a doubt it will always be my favorite restaurant in Marshinng. But, I already had the piano in my selection, but... the photograph, as it was used for me, is really illustrative. Half and the meat was not tasty, it tasted a little bad, it must have been frozen, but really frozen. Now, the other 10 times I went there, excellent food. This last one went less well.“

“I gave it 4 stars because in fact what you ask is everything is top...however doses, like to try it at the price of serious doses...in other words, it's good but expensive and in ridiculous quantity, you should review it and have a normal dish at the same time. price of what is today the "sample" dish but be careful, it's a very nice place...“

“Without a doubt one of the best restaurants to eat well, at a good price and in a pleasant atmosphere.
We traveled an hour or so from where we were staying in the Algarve, but it was totally worth it for the pleasant surprise of having lunch in a space with a calm and pleasant atmosphere and delicious food that doesn't disappoint.
We tried the goat and the choquinhos, which were both very well cooked and served.
I was in the mood and I will certainly be back to try the migas :)
