“Without a doubt one of the best restaurants to eat well, at a good price and in a pleasant atmosphere.
We traveled an hour or so from where we were staying in the Algarve, but it was totally worth it for the pleasant surprise of having lunch in a space with a calm and pleasant atmosphere and delicious food that doesn't disappoint.
We tried the goat and the choquinhos, which were both very well cooked and served.
I was in the mood and I will certainly be back to try the migas :)

“It is a very nice place with good service and healthy, appetizing food. Juices and desserts you can't miss. The attention of Yna, our waitress who spoke to us in Spanish and advised us very well. Don't miss this place if you like healthy and/or vegetarian food ???✨
Vegetarian options: Everything is delicious and healthy, the natural juices are very delicious. Great service and attention. You can't miss the desserts. Highly recommended!!“
“Went there for lunch yesterday. My wife had chicken with potatoes, I had pork with mussels and salad. Both dishes very tasty and big portions. The owner spoke good English,he was very friendly. This is the place where the locals eat, always a good sign. We both had dessert, I had rice pudding, my wife fruit. The next time I am in Loulé I will go to Apolo restaurant again.“

“I have been in Portugal for 20 days in various places but this is the best restaurant I have frequented.
Simple in its appearance but delicious in the preparation of the menu which was abundant and superlative.
Good wine and appetizers offered at the entrance are truly excellent and not just for presentation.
The bill was very honest and the staff very friendly even though I don't know the Portuguese language at all. Thank you with all my heart!“

“Ziet er van buiten weinig aantrekkelijk uit. Ook binnen is niet iemand met een goed gevoel voor uitstraling bezig geweest. Binnen is het kraak helder. En.....het eten is voortreffelijk!De bediening vlot en vriendelijk. Ook heerlijke zelfgemaakte toetjes. Zeer tevreden dus. Duur? Nee, natuurlijk niet!“
“We go here for lunch almost once a week. The food is traditional Portuguese and very tasty. I always end up ordering the Porco de amêijoas (pork with clams) it’s delicious. And you have to try the desserts. My favourite is Arroz doce but they are all worth a try and homemade. Anna and her son, Carlos, speaks English so no language barrier.
Vegetarian options: Only salad available

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurante Malveiro in Almancil, and it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the prawns from Mozambique. These prawns were incredibly fresh and flavorful, cooked to absolute perfection.
The prawn curry, which came highly recommended, was nothing short of spectacular. The rich and aromatic sauce, combined with the succulent prawns, created a symphony of flavors that stood out.
The warm and inviting atmosphere of this family-owned restaurant, along with the exceptional hospitality provided by Leonel, made the experience even more special. From start to finish, every moment at Restaurante Malveiro showed their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. If you're in the Algarve, this gem is a must-visit!“
“Husband and wife run the place, very friendly. Our apartment was right next door and we stopped there often. They offer light snacks like sandwiches, but also have fish & meat of the day updated daily. We enjoyed various meals like fresh tuna, chicken, soups, etc. Very casual atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, stay as long as you like. Closed on Sundays.“

“Traditional food restaurant, located in the center of town, next to the market, and that responds to the canons of a "real" Portuguese restaurant, not a place prepared to extract money from tourists. The place is large and the waiters do their best to serve you in a place that is packed with people. The bathroom is very clean and has paper and soap. I think it's a good option in Loulé. I remove a star, because there is a discrepancy between the prices that appear on the menu and those that appear on the bill, so it's time to review it.
Vegetarian options: There are vegan options such as vegetable soup and tortillas.
Kid-friendliness: There were children in the premises“
“The food was absolutely delicious, fantastic value for money and although there was a language barrier; the staff all tried their best to communicate with my husband and I. A hidden gem that I would 100% recommend!! The breaded chicken with sauce was delicious ?“

The chef's wife, who served us, is super friendly. Will definitely come back if we're in Loulé again. Keep up the good work guys ❤️“

“The best 'Francesinha' in all Sotovento. We stopped by change in Loulé and we got quickly pleased to find Colheita Fresca, delighted with the owners hospitality. We would have loved to try more dishes but the francesinha was full filling.Great flavour, homemade stock and homemade spicy sauce. We would love to come back but I believe the owner is retiring soon, a pity, but well deserved rest.A shame you didn't have 'Licor de Merda' from Cantanhede in your bar ?“

“I loved! I went to eat suckling pig and I hadn't had one this good in a few years!
I went with my mother, the owner even offered champagne, and it was great quality. I highly recommend going. There's parking at the door! Space to eat outside.“
“A pub and restaurant that is second to none! ?
We each had a main course, a dessert and three drinks at an unbeatable price.
The service is very attentive and quick, and also super nice. The food was very tasty!! We are very happy that we found this restaurant at the beginning of our vacation, we will be back.“
“Lovely place. Simple, but simply fantastic place, found by chance along the road towards Praia da Vitoria. A small restaurant on the corner of a side street with two tables outside and a few others inside but with a beautiful atmosphere. Much is due to Paula who served and explained typical and delicious food to us. She helped us taste and enjoy cracas, "like eating the sea". Very good value for money. An experience that we will remember, at the top of the Azores travel album.“
“I had a group dinner, mixed meat with the option of fish, several starters, hams, chorizo, croquettes patties, all-you-can-eat drink, dessert and coffee all included, very good service, everyone was satisfied, super friendly and helpful staff, the space is very beautiful and pleasant“
“Just a quick walk around, but if you want to leave the beach and head for the hills, drive up to Loule! Lovely mountain town, it reminds me a little of Ojai. Narrow streets, with colorful walls, crowded cafés and bars with a fun energy; definitely worth a longer-term visit. these are photos of the garden and an old church.“

“We just spent two weeks in Portugal and Spain having amazing meals, and THIS restaurant was the absolute best meal we had overall. What a treasure! The fresh, interesting and clean delicious dishes here are very memorable. Everyone in our group of six loved their meals so much, we passed them all around so each of us could try each one. It was difficult to settle on a favorite. The owner is wonderful and helpful. The chef is so talented and makes each dish fresh to order. If you are traveling from abroad, this is the local, authentic experience you do not want to miss. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!“

“Visited on our last night of our holiday. Booked the night before as I was concerned it was going to be a Friday night, it was pretty busy but as we had younger children we were first in at 19:00 when they opened. We had a nice table outside which is much cooler than inside. Most of us had the piri piri chicken which we all thought was really good. It’s on the bone but cut into chunks. Small menu, which isn’t a bad thing, included some children’s dishes. Overall a really nice evening and would recommend“
“The coffee was good but if you come to this place it’s to indulge it with a Folhado ? It’s delicious and it deserves a try as one of the best sweet pastry you can get in Loulé. The staff is friendly and the building has a great history too. Plus, for some added nostalgia, Mr. Bean is in a loop on tv ?“
“A very convenient place right outside Vila Nova de Foz Coa. On our way from Bragança to Serra de Estrela, it allowed us to visit the Museum and have a very good lunch within a limited schedule. We had stuffed mushrooms, rice and mushrooms, various vegetables in puff pastry, dry sausage and chorizo. And an excellent chocolate mousse. We had a reservation for 4 people in a nice part of the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were placed in the cafeteria. After a friendly complaint, they moved us to a much nicer place in the restaurant. The visit of the museum is a must.“
“Have a nice meal here, we both had the sea bream, which was served with potatoes and the first time in our holiday - vegetables! Most places only seem to serve potatoes and you buy a side salad. We had the bread, olives and sardine pate to start, and a half litre of house red. Nice coffee. Enjoyable meal, felt pretty full, good service.“

“At the roundabout of the Lidle and Aldi supermarkets, you cannot (and should not) miss it. In addition to the warm welcome from the owner who speaks remarkable French, the cuisine is very good, healthy and family-friendly, with varied daily specials; we often have to leave with a doggy bag, because the dishes are, in addition to being well made, very generous. Unfortunately, one regret, as this table is more for local workers, it is understandable, it is closed in the evening.“

“Went to Restaurant Calypso in Loulé this evening. Shared 2 carafes of house red wine (very drinkable) and a large bottled water along with couvert. I had black pork which was perfectly seasoned and for the life of me tasted like sirloin steak. My wife had piri piri chicken which is a Portuguese barbecue along with a great tomato and lettuce side salad. Both dishes came with wonderful fries and rice. We capped the meal off with a nutty, coffee infused cake dessert and a double espresso. Service was wonderful and the owner checked several times to ensure we were happy with the meal. The cost was very reasonable (under 20€ per person). Incrível!“

“We went to this restaurant after searching a lot because it was Monday and the ones we wanted in the area were either closed or they were too expensive. Since it is not close to the beach, the prices are more than affordable. We ordered grilled picaña and it came with a bunch of potatoes that were also very delicious. It's a shame that when we arrived they no longer had sardines... For dessert we tried the flan, which was homemade. Priced, as I say, quite cheap; for about €15-16/person including drinks and bread service.“

“Very tasty cakes and tarts. I usually rarely eat this, but here it was a treat! I can't say whether they are better or worse compared to other cafés, but I give it 5 stars. Service was very attentive and quick. The ambience is characterized by the visual impression of the 1920s in combination with more rock-oriented music (including red hot chili peppers) - a cool mix. We liked it there.“
“Thoroughly enjoyable. I had a portion of Meatballs with mash and broccoli. My partner had the Pork Hock. Both very good and the Pork Hock was plentiful and extremely tasty. No...will never be 5 star however despite a slight mix up with the bill (soon sorted) the service was very good. Spacious. Clean and tidy. We would return ?“

“This traditional restaurant, located in beautiful Benafim near Alte, is always worth a visit if you are passing through or on a trip to the hinterland of the Algarve. “This place was recommended by a local person, who claimed "it's not a tourist trap". Well, the fish (fried sardines) were very good. As I don't eat potatoes, I was offered steamed vegetables. And I ordered bread, olives and a salad too. They were all very good.
But I did not expect to be charged 4 euros for the steamed vegetables. Let's assume it was a mis-understanding...“

“We arrived early, around 8pm and there was no one sitting... It was full in no time!
The food is good, it was one of the best meats I've ever eaten. There were 6 of us and we ordered 4 dishes to share. The picanha and the chunks of vileta were our favorites! We didn't think anything special about the medallions with cheese, it's meat with cheese ??♀️ We had done well without them, I confess.
The Cod, for our taste, needed a little salt. The onion was great! It made the dish very appetizing, it was a happy choice.
The portions are quite generous so, if you wish, you can adopt the sharing concept.
The desserts, the medronho pudding, looked great and those who tried it said it was wonderful. Dom Rodrigo's puff pastry is not surprising, a little dry even, due to the puff pastry...
It is a restaurant to recommend and visit again, without a shadow of a doubt!“

“We have eaten very very well. They have treated us phenomenally although we arrived a little late for Portuguese schedules. The cod was delicious and the waiters were very professional and friendly. We were struck by how neat the cooks were and how clean the kitchen was. A little more fresh in the dining room and a complete 10!“
