“UPDATE: I also had the hot chicken and it tastes like the hot chicken of old, exactly what I want.
I had the hamburger steak delivered, with vegetables and baked potato. It was delicious. It is the only place that I know of that offers baked potato (all-dressed with sour cream on the side) and their vegetables were ok (better than some).
The next time I order hamburger steak, it will probably be from here.“

“It's certainly one of the most interesting brunch spots I've ever been! I hadn't checked the vibe or environment beforehand, just checked the menu and saw the ratings.
Went there on a Sunday, busy enough to need to put our name and come back 30 minutes later. When entered, immediately shocked by the contrast between how busy and apparently famous it is, and how...cheap...the interior is? Let's just say the environment don't keep up with how GREAT the food was! Truly interesting menu and flavorful meals.
We tried forest (don't remember the exact name) and the fried chicken salad (again, don't remember the exact name). Both were amazing. Just keep in mind that the fried chicken salad is somewhat sweet because of the honey sauce, but still worth the try.
TL;DR: Was I somewhat shocked by the cheap seats? Yes. Will I ever come back? Yes, at least two more times.“

Everything was outstanding, especially our server, Mark A., who provided truly exceptional service. I want to be clear that I don’t know him personally—we’re simply tourists visiting this city. The staff was very friendly, the service was super quick despite the restaurant having a lot of customers.
I got the chicken souvlaki, it was super tender. The tzatziki sauce was great, rice was well seasoned and the salad was fresh!“

Ma visite à la succursale du boulevard St-Laurent (coin Ave. Mont-Royal) a été marqué par une chose en particulier; la courtoisie et l’efficacité du service dispensé par un personnel attentif, charmant et très avenant qui tranche misérablement avec une hôtesse qui devrait être affectée, loin des contacts clients, à la plonge! Cette pauvre enfant semble éprise d’une sérieuse neurasthénie pathologique qui, selon moi, mérite une impérieuse attention (médicale ou autre). Malgré mon invitation à ce qu’elle arbore un sourire professionnellement cordial, au risque de nuire à une quelconque gerçure et à compromettre son regard de vaches qui regardent passer des trains, son comportement rédhibitoire s’est ajouté à sa triste prestation. En tant qu’ex-professionnel dans l’industrie hôtelière de luxe, en y songeant bien, cette employée ne mériterait même pas la plonge, mais plutôt la porte. “We were waiting for them to open at 11 am, Diane saw us and let us in a little early even though we assured her we could wait. She was friendly and funny a served us really, really excellent food. The hot chicken sandwich and the Cajun chicken sandwich were both among the best we've had. great coleslaw too! Sad that it was a short stay in Montreal and we probably won't be back soon but thinking about Mister Steer might get us back faster. We haven't tried the beef yet!“

While burgers are good and condiment choice is really good, the prep areas for your burger is usually quite messy with condiments you don't want getting mixed in with stuff you want (think onions in the salad and relish). “I grew up in Montreal and Harvey's was by far my favorite burger chain. It is like a Subway's for burgers - you tell them what to put on your sandwich and how much of everything you want. It is the one food I MUST have when I go back for a visit - cannot go to Canada without eating at least one - usually a double cheeseburger! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! :)“

“I was initially ready to leave a one-star review based on my past experience here. The food is ok, but nothing exceptional—so it’s important to set expectations accordingly.

That said, my previous visit was significantly impacted by poor service. This time, however, the experience was completely different thanks to Victoria. She greeted us with a genuine smile, was attentive, and took the time to guide us through the menu in a very helpful and friendly manner. Her attitude and professionalism truly stood out and elevated the entire visit.

In my view, the management should give her a hug and a bonus recognizing her efforts.

“Had been here for dinner like always this Thursday and really enjoyed the burgers. The meat was well cooked the salads were fresh too. Special note the guy who was on the grill i have seen him a few times and he was there on Thursday too he smiles and greets you and it really is welcoming for any customer. Will visit again“
