“This was our first time ordering from this restaurant and I wanted to try it because everyone has raved about it. When I phoned she was so friendly and helpful. I am so impressed with the food. I enjoyed everything that I ordered. Especially the eggplant and spinach. My husband, who is very picky, really enjoyed his lamb with carrots and raisins. The rice pudding was delicious too. We will definitely order again.”

“Well this was a fantastic surprise! While in the West Island, we intended to stop at Toasties for lunch then noticed Dagwoods right beside our location.

It had been a long time since I tried Dagwoods in general and never thought much of it.

This specific visit though surpassed all my expectations, not only with the food but with the friendly staff there today.

We had the spicy Italian sub and the beef one. Really fresh and tasty and plenty enough to satisfy our taste buds, at an affordable price which is something a lot of similar restaurants cannot provide.

Never thought I’d make a review like this for Dagwoods, but thanks to this place and staff for largely exceeding my expectations!”

I got the Shish Taouk Shawarma mixed plate where you can pick 2 salad choices. My friend ordered the wrap. Customer service was also very nice. Friendly staff and excellent service on getting our orders. Not too long of a wait and food was yummy. They offer vegetarian options of you're vegetarian. They also offer a family food combo which I'd like to try next time I go !! for west islanders, they used to be located at Fairview! Support local !!”

However, when I called and complained, after apologizing profusely, they guaranteed that they would make it up to me on my next visit. I picked up our diner again a couple of weeks ago and I could not believe their great professional attitude about the previous event, giving me a credit on the new order, all the food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely go again and I highly recommend it for an excellent family dinner and great personnel.”

“I took my friend to this restaurant for her birthday, and it was enjoyable. She really liked her goat cheese salad. I ordered the edamame salad and wished I had ordered the dressing on the side because it was too heavily dressed for me.
Both salads were fresh and the portions are generous. The sandwiches looked yummy, too. It’s a cute restaurant with a nice vibe.
A young woman in the family died by suicide and there is a beautiful photo of her in the restaurant. It added a poignant and sad note to the meal (I am a sensitive soul). Ribbons for mental health are sold at the cash.
I forgot to bring a candle for my friend’s birthday and they didn’t have any. That is a suggestion for them- to buy some candles and keep them in the restaurant! 🎂”

We can't believe it hasn't changed at all. We are very happy about this, as this specific type of straightforward, classic pizza seemed to be less popular lately—almost extinct, even.We also ordered the Québécoise (which is a new order for us here), and it is even better than we imagined it would be, with large, real, perfectly crispy bacon pieces.They were both pretty filling. A medium goes a long way.We won't lie; we didn't expect much. We foresaw the disappointment of an unsatisfying reboot, but we were pleasantly surprised. We sincerely hope they open more franchises and perhaps restore some of its former glory (according to their website, there seem to be plans). The interior is very minimalist and worn down, but it's the food that shines here and this is where it wins - the food. Lei is the owner and makes all the food fresh. He is very eager to please and serve. I had the $10 Special many items and ordered the General Tao (not overly drowned in sweet sauce nor breaded - it was mostly chicken and NOT the likeness of premade frozen chicken nuggets ), and the dish came with a heaping mountain of steamed rice. I also ordered a side order of a large hot & sour soup. Yummy.”
