Bobino Bagel is famous for serving the best Montreal-style bagels in the Gatineau and Ottawa area. The bagels are perfectly cooked, soft and chewy, and made fresh on-site. The renovated location offers a welcoming and bright atmosphere, making it a great spot for photos. Visitors can enjoy a bagel sandwich or choose from a variety of fresh bagel options, including the classic smoked salmon bagel and other creative gourmet choices. The shop also offers a selection of flavored cream cheeses, such as cowboy (a little spicy but very tasty) and anise. Customers often leave with multiple bagels of different flavors to take home, as they freeze well and are provided in a convenient bag.
Besides bagels, the menu includes a variety of sandwiches that look very good, along with several hot and cold beverages. The indoor space is bright and colorful, with outdoor seating available when weather permits. The establishment is kid-friendly and has some free parking for 60 minutes, which is a big advantage since nearby street parking is also accessible. The staff is friendly, bilingual, and helpful. The place appears to be accessible for wheelchair users, with no steps at the entrance and spacious interior and bathroom areas.
Although the seating on plastic or metal chairs can be uncomfortable after a while, the overall experience is highly positive. The location is perfect for a quick bite or a casual meal, and the quality of the bagels and service makes it a must-visit in Gatineau. Visitors especially enjoy watching the bagel making in action and appreciate the playplace for kids, which includes a play kitchen, books, blocks, and vehicles. It is an ideal spot for breakfast bagels, a quick lunch or snack, and coffee.
