Fidélice - Artisan gourmet

I came in two days early to preorder and prepay for a birthday cake for my mom. I picked out the cake, gave my information, and told them I would be picking it up between 4–5 PM on the scheduled day.

When I arrived to pick it up, the interaction became unnecessarily confusing. I told the staff member I was there to pick up a cake I had already preordered, but she seemed unsure of what I was talking about. She asked when I wanted to pick it up, even though I was standing there to collect it at that moment. Then she asked what kind of cake I wanted, despite the fact that the order had already been placed and paid for days earlier.

At that point, the conversation became frustrating and honestly gave me a headache. I had to repeatedly explain that the order had already been made and that I was simply there for pickup. Eventually, she went to the back and another employee appeared to understand the situation and brought the cake out.

In the end, I got the cake, but the entire pickup process felt strangely disorganized and far more complicated than it needed to be. Very odd experience overall.

Stopped by Fidélice this afternoon and it was such a lovely experience. Picked up a few treats along with a coffee, and everything was beautifully made with real care. The pastries feel refined without being pretentious, and the flavours are clean, balanced, and memorable. The space has a calm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to slow down for a moment. A great addition to the neighbourhood — I’ll definitely be back.

The best butter croissants and danishes! We have been getting them for years and it is still our favorite in Ottawa/Gatineau.

Recently ordered from Fidelice and I’m beyond impressed! The cake tasted amazing — super moist with absolutely no egg smell, which I really appreciated. I ordered the strawberry shot cake and it was absolutely delicious. It literally melted in my mouth!

Yes, it’s a drive from Ottawa to Gatineau, but it was completely worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and perfectly baked cakes! 🍓🎂

We enjoyed a variety of items like cake and croissants with my parents who are visiting from Korea. Everything was perfectly sweet and full of rich flavors — we truly enjoyed every bite. It was definitely worth the 30 km drive!

Best Pastries in the region

Very bad service and bad coffee. I do not recommend for coffee. Maybe pastries. One of the employees was so rude not even a smile or a hello. And giving us rude attitude and laughing with other employees. Knowing we dont speak french.

Delicious croissants!
Friendly staff that were very helpful despite my lack of French skills.
I only wish they had a bit more seating and a customer washroom.

This Gatineau Bakery makes the best cakes and desserts in the greater Ottawa area. The bakery is always well stocked, staff are very friendly and accommodating. We’ve never been disappointed in their baked items and will continue to visit this amazing bakery.

There are not many bakeries in Gatineau, but for sure Fidélice is a good address. And most definitely, their strawberry shortcake is the best I've ever tasted. But, they do have a large selection of breads and pastries.
