“Came here two weeks ago, was served by this nice gentleman Serge, lovely service and lovely atmosphere. Now came back again tonight, same exact experience with Alex, just a bunch of friendly Bar and restaurant staff. Highly recommend this spot.“

“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!“

“Nice spot with a cozy, lively atmosphere definitely a popular place, so I’d recommend booking in advance. Service was okay; nothing to complain about, but nothing particularly memorable either.

I asked the waiter for a recommendation between the lamb shank and the boeuf bourguignon, and he said both were good. I went with the lamb shank. The portion was generous, but taste-wise it was just okay not especially memorable considering the price point.

Surprisingly, the sides stole the show. The dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables were absolutely delicious and ended up being the highlight of the plate.

Overall, Ratatouille is worth visiting for the ambiance and sides, but if you're going for the lamb, you might want to consider trying something else on the menu.“

“I have been dreading this review for a while now, but things are not improving! Tonight, February 15th, they had a fixed 4 course dinner for $100. I called in advance because I was dining alone at the bar and inquired if I needed reservations. No mention of the $100 menu. Sat at the bar, was ignored by all the staff. First course didn't show up. Second course showed up and I asked where the first one was. They brought it after. The third course, the short rubs, was cold, as was my food the last 3 times we went there. i returned it and version 2 was better. Dessert was a very uneventful creme brulée. This is my third ( possibly 4th time) discretely providing feedback. Getting a comped dessert or small glass of wine. I was really rooting for this restaurant, but it is mismanaged and really needs to get their act. Cocotte no more!“

“We had a wonderful experience at Le St. Laurent. The staff was friendly and helpful in regard to the food and wine offerings. The chef’s attention to detail in regard to dish preparation and presentation was extraordinary. The scallop appetizer was tender with a delicious sauce. As a main dish the duck and the beef shortrib were perfectly prepared and are highly recommended. This restaurant should be considered one of the best in Canada.
