La Belle & La Boeuf - Burger Bar - Gatineau

The service is really great, but the interior looks like you gave somebody all the money to decorate in a room in an mmo and they just placed random tacky stuff everywhere. The food is meh, the fries come unsalted and flavorless, and the burger that I got was the St-Tite and everything on it didnt all go well together so it was pretty bland in the end. The bacon was also tough. Also for some reason even if you order a pop with no ice it still tastes watered down. PS be prepared to break the bank, it expensive for what you get.

Server was attentive to our table group. Very polite, made some good suggestions for dinner.
Food was good, nice portions.

We visited this restaurant for a special event with a party of 12. Unfortunately, the experience was mixed.

I ordered the beef tartare and did not enjoy the recipe. It contained many ingredients—lots of onions, pickles, and Parmesan—but somehow lacked flavor overall. The only ingredient that really stood out was the green pepper, which I didn't feel complemented a tartare well. The dish was surprisingly bland despite the number of ingredients.

Service was inconsistent. Finished appetizer plates remained on the table until members of our group gathered them together and handed them to the staff. Otherwise, they likely would have stayed there throughout the meal.

Another disappointment was the seating arrangement. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet two large groups were seated right next to each other, making the environment much noisier than necessary.

While the occasion itself was enjoyable, the food and service fell short of expectations.

Tried it for the first time and the service was good, atmosphere is pretty neat, they did a great job with the decor inside the restaurant. But the food falls short.

At over $25-30+ per burger and the photos of each item on the menu, I had expected better portion sizes and better ingredients. The burger patty was thin and dry unlike the menu photos, but my biggest gripe was the american processed cheese. I really dislike the artificial taste. It's listed as cheddar cheese in the menu.

Tried a few other things like the grilled cheese, tomato soup. Cheese in the grilled cheese wasn't melted, and same artificial processed cheese. Tomato soup tasted just like the tomato sauce in alphabet soup. Fries were not crispy, but still ok.

Just to clarify, all items were ordered in one visit, we did not intentionally choose to order both items with processed cheese. I feel it would be better transparency to put it on the menu as Kraft cheese.

Overall, just found it a little disappointing, was expecting a a really good burger. Hope they can work on the quality!

We ordered some food for pickup, and one item was missing from our order.

They delivered it just a few minutes later and even gave us a complimentary poutine as a bonus.

Finally checked out La Belle et La Boeuf and honestly, the food delivers. I got the grilled cheese made with goat cheese and Brie, it was unreal. Super rich, crispy, cheesy, and exactly the kind of comfort food you want when you go somewhere like this. Their burger and poutine selection is also stacked, definitely one of those menus where it’s hard to pick just one thing.

You can tell they lean into that foodie/pub vibe and for the most part they pull it off really well. Portions are solid, flavours are bold, and the atmosphere is lively without feeling too chaotic.

The cocktails weren’t quite on Shakers level for me personally, but they still put effort into presentation and the drink menu has some fun choices!

Overall, a really solid spot in Gatineau if you’re craving indulgent comfort food and a fun dinner night out!

If you want a phenomenal burger and a great vibe, this is the spot. They have an incredible selection of unique hamburgers and the food was amazing. I loved the look of the place—it has a cool industrial style with raw red brick and black steel, filled with nostalgic vintage games and retro decor on display. Total high-energy atmosphere with sports on the big screens. Will definitely be back!

What a great restaurant! It is a burger joint but most of their burgers, you will never find anywhere else! And they're all looking mighty tasty. I had the Mrs. Pac Mac...a burger for cheese lovers and man, did it not disappoint. Came with a Kool-Aid pickle which I'd never had before but it was interestingly good! Service was friendly and fairly quick and the atmosphere is cool and unique. If you haven't tried it yet, definitely check it out.
