The business is closed for renovations. We came a long distance, and was disappointed

Food was very good. Unfortunately the restaurant only had one waiter for the entire place. Hence the service was painfully slow. Nice enough person, but way too busy

Disappointed. Primed up for a night out for a birthday celebration, but they lost our reservation!? Wednesday night, 10 girls, restaurant was near empty and they were not very welcoming. The food that followed was either bland or too salty, not sure if the chef was off, but we were not happy with the price for quality. The hostess/waitress never smiled or said anything nice, didn't even try. Won't be given a second chance.

I was so excited to bring my friend for dinner on Valentine's day. When I made the reservation I was told there was a special menu of $85 per person for the occasion; I thought it was a bit pricey but I did not hesitate as it was for Valentine's day and after all it was at la Squadra and this was my first time there. Suffice to say we were extremely disappointed: the 3 course menu made no sense and we had very little choice offered, the service was poor to say the least as we had to ask for our server many times, the table was very small for 2 people, there was only 1 choice in dessert and it was not fresh, coffee was extra and we had to ask for bread with our main course. All in all the night was pretty much a disaster and the bill came to $305.00 for two people. Would I recommend or go back - do the math.

We were greeted and seated promptly, our server came over right away and filled our glasses with water & took our drink order. They left us plenty of time to view the menu and make our choices but at the same time they did come by a few times to make sure we were OK. We (party of 4) ordered our entrées and main course at the same time. The somellier (Martin) did come to our table to make wine recommendations, this is one of the little things we like. The entrées (polpetta and escargots) came in a decent amount of time, I would say about 20-30 mins (we weren't in a hurry so I was not watching the time). I had the wild boar and it was excellent! the meat was cooked perfectly, it was so tender it melted in your mouth (compliments to the chef and her crew). The other persons in the party had the Linguine Louisana, Wild boar and another pasta dish and they all loved their meals. Again, the main course came within a decent amount of time and it was very hot. Our waiter kept our glasses filled with water and wine and was very attentive, polite and respectful. We spent a very nice evening (3 hours) in a great ambiance, not too noisy, great décor and excellent food/wine. Thank you to Kassandra and crew (chef/kitchen), Martin and Nathalie (somellier/host) and our server (Joelle).

First time at this gem of a restaurant. Our meal was perfection done by a chef who knew how to surprise us with our yummy meals. Started with the snail dish which was so yummy and can’t wait to have it again. My main meal was shrimp fettuccini which was a big portion and I ended the meal with crème brûlée which is a favourite of mine and was happy to see it came warm.
The atmosphere was stunning and had great serves from the sommelier for our wine and our waitress was so attentive.
I recommend this restaurant and will be certainly going back.

I reached out to La Squadra, but having not received any acknowledgment from the Management about those incidents, I decided to post a review. It is not about having overpaid as the amounts are minimal, but I felt that the restaurant should be made aware of this and acknowledge that mistakes were made.

My husband and I, along with another couple, went to La Squadra for dinner last week. When it was time to pay the bill, no one at the table noticed, when presented with the credit card machine, that the percentage of tip we were choosing would be calculated on the total amount of the meal including both taxes.

In the province of Quebec, here is what the law states:

« Quebec's Bill 72 Law: New Tipping Rule Update | MYR POS
The law on tipping in Quebec changed on May 7, 2025, when Bill 72 came into effect, requiring all tips to be calculated based on the pre-tax subtotal instead of the final bill amount including taxes

La Squadra had plenty of time to implement this new law and adjust their credit card machine accordingly.

Another annoying incident happened. The couple we were with ordered a basket of bread ($4.25). We had requested separate bills and when the time came to finalize the bills, the server took upon herself to divide the amount in 2, without asking if this is what we wanted (we didn’t want bread). And, as in the previous incident, it was not noticed until we got home.

As previously noted, it it not about the money, but after each couple spent over $180 before tips, I feel that our opinion should be acknowledged by the Management.
