Beautiful steamie and poutine with very dark gravy was served to me in a very reasonable amount of time. Service was fine. No idea how old this place is but it's definitely old. Wish them continued longevity.“

“Found this place after moving in the neighborhood and I come here from time to time.Just taking a table next to the window makes me feel on those typical tv shows where you have your local dining with a very friendly environment.It is remarkable how all the staff makes everybody feel welcome as family, some people arriving are acquaintances, some others just usual customers. At dinner time, at New York Fries at Carrefour Laval, I was treated to a large poutine named in my honor: the “Seb” poutine. In this poutine, there are (if I remember correctly): fries, cheese curds, pieces of pickles and merguez, cheese sauce and brown sauce for poutine, pieces of bacon and the all served with a fountain drink. “It was pretty decent, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I am looking for a thick, crispy fry, and something different with the gravy, not sure what exactly. Maybe a richer flavor and thicker texture?

I wouldn't be disappointed if I was served this poutine again, but I will continue to try other places instead.“

“Atmosphere could use much improvement. The Laval location is from the 80’s and looks like it hasn’t seen an update since its opening. It has washed out seats, stained ceiling tiles and very poor dark lighting. It was nice to eat outside. The food is amazing and the reason I’ve been going for over 50 years. With the expensive cost of eating out you need to offer a trio or loyalty card. I remember when Dic was alive he wouldn’t charge me for my fountain soda drinks. I miss Dic and those days. “Oh my days... Best restaurant in the neighborhood. I went there on a cold yet sunny Saturday afternoon, not expecting too much. Boy to say i was satisfied with my experience would be an understatement. Food was absolutely scrumptious and the service was impeccable. Couldn't ask for a better lunch date with my girl. The waitress refilled my coffee without me needind to ask. Plus prices are never seen before in this economy. Anyways 10 outta 10 would recommend.“

“I stop here a lot and love the food. Sure, there are a lot of Belle Province Restaurants in Quebec, but will they make you a smoked meat poutine for breakfast? Probably not. These guys are the best group of people ever. Try the Sous Marin Speciale. Smoked meat poutine. Or ever steamed hot dogs my toppings of choice are mustard and onion with cayenne pepper. Washed down with a glass bottle of coke. The glass bottle just makes it that much better.“

Loved Lafleur’s for years and have been coming hear for almost as many. The newer update of the building is a bit colder and lacks the nostalgic personality of the old place and is much roomier and streamlined, but personality and warmth are now gone.
The michigans are as usual delicious and sauce yummy. The dog is the dog and always good.
The fry was tasty and the portion very generous, interesting far superior to a New York Fry product, around the same price, tastier; and more than TWICE the portion. NYF needs to learn a thing or two from this chain.

No complaints. The reason why the food is not a 5 is that it’s not exception. It’s a very very good place for this fast food, but there are other places that serve this type of food at a higher level so I hold back.

“For over 75 years Royal Sous-marin has been serving up Greek and Quebecois fast food and full meal favourites while maintaining quality and value — even in today’s difficult market conditions.

Unlike some of these type of old-school diners the service and cleanliness here are exemplary.

I had wanted to try this cool spot for a while, so finally went for a late lunch and had a chicken souvlaki pita with fries and a Pepsi (as a trio).

It was freshly made and perfectly cooked. With ample chicken on a thicker whole wheatish pita that was a unique highlight of the meal. The tzatziki was smooth and a bit savoury which worked with the pure flat top grilled chicken pieces. Plenty of fries with no skimping on the mayo on the side and a basket of ketchup packets on every table. Such a handy and equally smart touch.

Shout out to Steve and Katrina who were quite friendly and made me feel welcome.

Also to mention they now have an online ordering platform that comes with 10% off plus their own delivery person and also Uber Eats is available.
