“I was looking for somewhere quiet outdoors with a courtyard to eat with a late meal in walking distance to my hotel - Moxy. This was perfect. The gem was the courtyard. It’s a decent sized old stone walled in area, lit with patio lights, well spaced tables and umbrellas. A mix of old and new buildings around you gives it a cool vibe. As a solo female traveller I safe walking in the area.

Prices were good and portions size was also decent. Expect your standard local pub food, my burger was okay taste wise but not a homemade patty and over seasoned with what I think was a Montreal steak spice type blend, fries were a little burnt. The burger did look great with two very large and fresh pieces of tomato, 2 generous pieces of dill pickle and onions. My only advice here would be to make a shift to making more items from scratch, it would easily elevate this pubs food and review scores. Offer a gluten free bun - which most places thaw from frozen for each burger order - may be a way to attract more people. Good selection of beer, and I had the red win from Portugal which was great. Only advice here was to maybe start stocking some seltzers, especially for hot summer days. They had at least 4-5 good selections for zero alcohol drinks. My waiter was a young man who was just the right amount of attentive.“

“Some really tasty good here. The burger I had was fantastic, and although I would've rathered it was cooked to medium-rare the flavour and juciness were incredible. The fries were very moreish too. The beers were decent, but really come here for the food.“

However I take exception to your statement, "Scotyz in Greenfield Park offers top-notch service and a cozy, English pub atmosphere, appealing particularly to the 40s and 50s age group." When I go there with a group we are all in our 70s and 80s and the people at other tables have just as many oldies. So Scottyz is for everyone!😃Must be based on the time of day.“

But we were served lots of different drinks before… Excuse being that they are short of staff. Would he have refused us 7 B52s because it was too complicated?

“Great food for just a pub! The type of place I enjoy. If you dontlike eating at fancy up scale restaurants this is the place for you. Very historic building with plenty of young locals coming to eat and drink. In the heart of old Montreal! Stopped for a beer and nachos and enjoyed it!“

The smoke meat sandwich was a little small, especially for the price, and I think it's the first time I get toasted bread on a Montreal smoke meat, got me wondering if they were trying to extend the shelf life of their bread.
