The musicians were awesome—they played a show on a holiday weekend. No cover, bands were volunteering their time, the place was packed! After the show, I was disappointed to hear that those musicians didn’t get any drink tickets, had rude encounters with the staff, were kicked out after the live music ended (despite the venue remaining open), and even told by the owner to “go back to the west side”.When I wanted to bring up those concerns, the owner dismissed me and waved his hands in my face saying “goodnight, goodnight, goodnight”.Free pool though, 2 stars.

We just popped in here at the end of a disappointing night at another more expensive place and the vibes were perfect. It was a mostly empty Thursday night and there was a game on so the group that was there mostly hung at the bar and watched that. It seemed to get a little busier the later it got though. We decompressed and had a lovely cheap pint and a good chat. Great dive bar.Side note: the graffiti in the bathroom is top notch.

really comfortable. The young server was a tremendous asset. Paul also gave a nice recommendation for food. He politely refused to take Tragically Hip requests which was a bonus.

Barfly vacillates from being an over crowded mess, to being a near perfect dive bar. One night I went in and there was one patron, one bartender, and a late night Canucks game. Beautiful. The next I couldn't get in the door! Cash only. ATM on premises.

The three times I went to this bar, I was poorly received. The service is terrible. I waited 30 minutes, the barmaid made me take and pay for a pint even though I wanted a drink. Then she made a scene for me to add tips for the quality of service. I WILL NEVER GO THERE

Super aggressive barmaid, who forces her customers to give tips, once installed. Vile and dirty toilets. Disreputable manager. I was there for the first time and had my worst experience in a bar in Montreal. I RECOMMEND THIS

I waited 27 minutes for a pint, which I was charged $2 more than the sticker price. 10 minutes later, the barmaid aggressively asked me once seated to “Pay for the service which was not included”. Thanks, but no thanks.

Prices are right - free pool table. I saw a super amazing band play fun hard rock songs from the 80's and 90's. The band was called Soul n' Bones they totally rocked this place!
